“The reality is that most children are engaging with screens throughout the day at school and home. It becomes difficult to track the total number of hours,” Malik said.

True and inexcusable. Computers should have no place in schools outside of IT instruction, and smartphones should be locked away. The way it is now, we are looking at generation of people with eye problems.

Fortunately, exposure to blue light from computer screens and devices has not been shown to cause permanent eye damage, according to the American Academy of Opthalmology.

I disagree with this statement. When I switched to using the computer 6 hours a day, the blue light from my computer quickly degenerated my eyesight within one year. Before that, I worked in an office with intermittant use of the computer and my eyesight was fantastic.

As of now, I take breaks from my computer screen every 25-30 minutes and walk around or look out at the beautiful view outside my window. It really does help refresh my eyes and mind to do that.

I remember when my daughter got playstation 1. I had ago and could not get off it. I spent 48 hour playing with only a few breaks and I got really sick. lol.
