This product while still in use is being phased out by PMI for their TERRA product which is synthetic. If tobacco didn't smell, had no traces of smell, etc... It would ultimately be a more popular product. It wouldn't matter if 50% of users died from it. Tobacco is a killer, no matter the shape.

Smoking is gross. There is no getting around it. I would be fine if it were completely banned

Philip MOrris are telling consumers that their product is safe to use?
Well, I'm sure that's fine, then. I'm sure my dead grandparents and parents would agree.

"Katsusaburo Yamagiwa, a Japanese pathologist at Imperial Tokyo University, and his research assistant, Dr. Koichi Ichikawa, carried out an experiment in which they repeatedly painted the inner side of 101 rabbit ears with coal-tar for 150 days. This led to some interesting discoveries. On day 35, some rabbits began to show the initial signs of cancer, 12 days later some rabbits developed full-blown cancer, and by day 150, cancer was evident in all the rabbits." This was in 1915. I read the original paper years ago and saw in the old photographs what looked like cauliflowers growing on those poor rabbit's ears.
The same carcinogens that caused the rabbit cancers are produced by burning plant material (e.g benzo [α] pyrene) in tobacco, the fireplace, the campfire, grilled meats, et alia. So, given the wide differences in Human physiology between individuals, arguing about the amount of such substances is just "blowing smoke". If one is addicted to Nicotine, never demonstrated to cause cancer but one of the most addictive substances on the planet, the plain ecigarette is probably the safest option to salve the NEED. Add 'flavoring' and it adds a worrisome new potential toxin to the mix because it is highly likely that the carcinogenic potential of these Corporate flavorants is undefined. But tobacco smoking is just a revenge of the Native Americans on their tormentors and, as any Libra (Truth, JUSTICE, and Beauty) will tell you, we deserve it.

These things give off a very unpleasant odor which mixes with the smug attitude of the person who thinks it is okay to smoke right next to me when I am trying to enjoy my food.
