Tiny airborne particles may pose a big coronavirus problem

My one hour commute on the crowded ODAKYU line is sounding a whole lot worse than I previously thought.

The World Health Organization, which had long dismissed a danger from aerosols except in the case of certain medical procedures, later said that aerosol transmission of the coronavirus can’t be ruled out in cases of infection within crowded and poorly ventilated indoor spaces.

That is inexact, aerosols have been always considered a viable mechanism of transmission, what the WHO decided based on the available data at the time was this mechanism was not important enough to promote (complicated, expensive) specific measures to stop it and focus on the bigger droplets.

The part with viruses being released after manipulating contaminated objects (including the skin of the carrier or tissue paper) is more important because it confirms something that has been thought as dangerous but not quantified until now. The experiments are done with influenza instead of coronavirus, and with a short amount of time between applying the virus and the manipulation, but they show that viral particles can be turn into aerosols in a degree enough to produce infection, even if in small doses.

Of course this means that people that clean up materials and spaces that may be infected have to take care of not breathing those aerosols, but also means that even if you don't touch your face touching something contaminated with your hands you are at a higher risk of getting the infection until you disinfect them (because when you touch something again a small amount of aerosols are produced).

No, everybody that can only support their arguments with a supposed conspiracy that controls everything in the world so nobody can find proof is labeled (validly) as a conspiracy theorist. People that sustain their arguments with scientific facts, even if wrong, do not merit the label.

How much richer has the media has become? from where the data is taken? how does that relate with reporting things that are not true? I mean, the reality is complicated and bad enough to have that effect without need for any lies.
