Hope this story is true ... 'cause I love tomatoes and eat them almost daily. Strokes are in my family history so hopefully the tomatoes will save the day for me.

Eat this, eat that... If one followed all these health recommendations, one would have to eat a bit of everything. Oops, yep exactly, that is what common sense tells us anyways. Eat a bit of everything, not too much, and stay active. Nothing more to it. Of course, that makes all these various "eat this, eat that" advise pointless.

Tomatoes are not that popular among youngsters in Japan, for some reason - it must be the texture of the larger varieties. Drinking salt-free tomato juice is how I get my lycopene, and the salted kind tastes foul to me now.

Tomato consumption is also believed to be beneficial to the prostate. I'm a bit surprised it wasn't mentioned in the article.

Children don't generally like tomatoes everywhere. Also in Europe. Cucumbers, on the other hand are a hit! First-hand experience.

You are absolutely right. In this regard, pomegranate juice is also excellent for prostate. Drinking 8 ounces of pomegranate juice daily may slow the progression of localized prostate cancer that hasn't spread.
