I think it was clear from last year that for any kind of purpose where americans are required to uniformly accept science and reason and to think about their community and not only themselves the result is unfortunately failure.

Another day, another propaganda piece. We're all waiting for the doomsday surge to end all surges. Meanwhile those pesky unvaccinated who just won't accept science aren't dying fast enough! Almost 99.8% of them are surviving! oBEy mY SciEnCe!!1!!

At Jeff:

It is not about their survival rate. It is about the length of time to get them healthy, the overwhelming workload of the health care workers, and the beds they take up that should be used for people now waiting in-line to get cancer operations etc.

Non vaccinated should stay at home and overcome the preventable sickness on their own.

The problems with the overwhelmed healthcare systems could be fixed almost overnight if they stopped rejecting those safe and effective repurposed drugs, which were rejected/prohibited specifically to push the vaccines.

You mean by rejecting science and using things proven to be useless? that is terrible advice, somehow the scientific and medical community that says the opposite from you seems to be a tad more likely to be correct, specially with all the data that proves it.

@Virus: you cannot teach on a platform like this to the uneducated and antivacxers .

I do not mind if they go there own direction, but keep away from the educated like me, family, friends and all the other smart people.

Was out grocery shopping this week. Most people were wearing masks and the covid vaccination waiting area had 4 people waiting. I found both of those observations good. Would have been better if these slow-to-vaccinate people had gotten in line in May, then the hospitals would have so many fewer people ending up there and people who can't be vaccinated wouldn't need to fear for their health every time they go out.

There's a movement of people who reject germ theory, which is one of the top 10 greatest human discoveries and why we live so much longer now than 100 yrs ago.

https://arstechnica.com/science/2021/08/deep-dive-into-stupid-meet-the-growing-group-that-rejects-germ-theory/ Get ready for a laugh at those people. Darwin will be taking them out. Sadly the flat-earthers will still be around. /s

Famous last words before kicking the bucket: I wish I'd got the vaccine.

A good friend died this last January, just a few months before he could have gotten the vaccine. It is still hard for me to accept that he is gone, as it is hard to accept that people would choose death over life. Get vaccinated or play Russian roulette with Covid.

The arrogance of humans in general and the even elevated one in the States, that’s the problem. A vaccination here, a mask there, we are the greatest, the number one, we will soon have it defeated, we can live with the virus, and all such stupid talking. Even much worse the deniers, no vaccinations, no masks, it’s only an influenza etc. No, I told you , we cannot live with the virus, told what to do and that it needs a unity, one clear language and quasi military response and a fortified strategy to extinguish the viruses or anyhow separate us from them, ending the overlapping ‘coexistence’. First, try out that damned lockdown, but this time please a real one, not the ones that haven’t been lockdowns at all.

When the anti-vaxxers get sick from corona they can seek treatment from good doctors like Ron and Rand Paul. Rest well now.

Yup that's the problem. Many people don't listen to doctors' advise to get vaccinated to prevent serious disease but of course will go to same doctors when they get sick

Hopefully there will come a time when the un-vaccinated will NOT be admitted to hospital for covid treatment.

I’m still not persuaded by this argument. They are a burden and a liability, but there are people with low IQs and a pathology for conspiracy theories. You can’t help the cards you were dealt.

However, there is an argument to be made that they should pay the consequences for their ideas.

It’s a tough one.
