quite simple actually, just skip a meal or two per day. Your body needs only a set number of calories and the rest it can take from your body fat. That will make you lean eventually. Working out/exercise will help also.

Dieting is so easy. A rough way to get results is this.
1 Calculate BMR.
2 Exercise daily for X calories.
3 Eat Y calories.
4 Make sure Y = BMR + X - 500
This will allow you to burn 500 calories a day, which comes out to a loss of almost 1 kg every two weeks -- a realistic goal that gives your body the ability to adjust to the weight. You never want to lose too much too quickly.
I lost 20 kg doing this. I don't know why obese people can't do the same.

High Fructose Corn Syrup is the culprit in the USA obesity Rate, its everywhere, is cheaper than sugar, so profit is higher,
cookies, ketchup, hams, bread, sodas(CoK-Peps) , cough syrups,even on the babies formulas, EVERYWHERE!!
and its not going to change soon.
