"Scientists who support the use of embryonic stem cells say they could transform medicine, providing treatments for blindness, juvenile diabetes or severe injuries. But critics object to them because they are harvested from human embryos."

Adult stem cells hold so much more promise and have already been proven to help in concrete ways. They avoid the problems of rejection and tumor causation and have so far been far more successful that embryonic stem cells. I don't know why anyone keeps fooling around with embryonic stem cells when all the action is with adult stem cells.
