The should put the drug in the Japanese water system and our children can live in peace!!

The headline is misleading. The drug is not meant to "prevent pedophilia", it is meant to prevent phedophiles from acting on it. And afaic, it is a pointless undertaking, because those who contact the hospital about their mental issue are not the ones who would actually act on it in the first place.

I disagree. If they weren't the type who would act upon it, there would be no need to visit the police. It's because they are scared that they will not be able to restrain themselves that they would go for help.

Strange:
No, the ones who would act on it would act on it.... by definition. And by the way, the article said nothing about "police", did you pull that one out of thin air?

Not wanting to act on it, they go to the hospital to get help. If that were not an option, they may act upon it. If they thought they wouldn't act upon it, they wouldn't need to go to the hospital.
Apparently. I think I meant to type hospital.

You cannot prevent pedophilia. Pedophilia is a disorder. It is a noun, not a verb. You can prevent child sexual abuse. I wish media organizations would stop minimizing child sexual abuse by conflating the two.
