The title can be misinterpreted easily, the government is not telling companies to go an make vaccines against specific variants, it is telling those companies already planning to make new versions of the vaccines to include BA.4 and BA.5 variants in the formulation.

As usual clinical trials will be the bottleneck of the development, but the excellent record of the currently used covid vaccines and the lack of evidence the proteins in the new variants causing extra problems may mean a simplified and shorter testing protocol as it is done for the influenza vaccines.

They need to do something current, vaccines obviously useless against omicron!

By the time those are rolled out, the world will be on BA.9 already. Besides if we're not doing boosters anymore, then it doesn't matter much which variants are targeted as most people willing to be vaccinated already have been 3 times.

And here we see the start of an annual 'Alert!' such as we see now for the flu vaccines that seen to be often for the wrong strain, but Big Pharma will still be making a good profit out of taxpayer money and that's the IMPORTANT thing.

A virus stops replicating with zinc, and zinc ionophores: HCQ, Quercetin.

The world lost a brave doctor to cancer today;

he discovered and made his protocols available

and cured and continues to cure so many.

He showed the world you can live without fear of a virus.

Maybe they can produce one that actually works this time.

While previous "variants of concern" like Alpha and Delta eventually petered out, Omicron and its sublineages have dominated throughout 2022, to the point it comprises the vast majority of all COVID in the world, FDA official Jerry Weir told the expert meeting this week.

I watched DW News a while back and they have a Doctor by the name of Derek Williams who explains things very articulately to non scientists.

One thing he said was that Omicron is not a variant of Delta or Alpha or Beta, but appears to be a variant of the original Wuhan strain.

I thought that was interesting.

Crystal ball predictions are not really convincing, specially when the declarations of the FDA in the article explicitly contradict them.

Feel free to take a vaccine that did not go through human trials if you want.

Some experts advocate that.

Current vaccines are extremely effective at reducing the risk from the disease, they work as intended, even against variants they were not designed for.

Feel free to take a vaccine that did not go through human trials if you want.

No such vaccine, if the FDA says one thing and some nameless person on the internet says they are lying it is quite obvious who has more credibility.

And here we see the start of an annual 'Alert!' such as we see now for the flu vaccines that seen to be often for the wrong strain, but Big Pharma will still be making a good profit out of taxpayer money and that's the IMPORTANT thing.

Not having vaccines against the variants would mean much more profit for pharmacological companies, the current vaccines are very effective at preventing the most expensive kinds of complications. If profit were important the easiest way to get it would be not to develop any vaccine.

A virus stops replicating with zinc, and zinc ionophores: HCQ, Quercetin.

Except that viruses keep replicating without zinc, and the effect on HCQ in clinical trials ended up being undetectable (except for the extra risk that patients had thanks to its well know toxicity). People can say they found a miracle treatment very easily, the difficult part is when they have to prove it.

I'm generally not into conspiracies, but one interesting line of thought I've heard discussed is that the original Wuhan strain was likely an accidental lab leak and the omicron strain may be an intentional lab leak as a way to solve the problem. In other words, it's a natural vaccine for the original lineage. Although, obviously not truly natural if indeed from a lab. Point is, it made the earlier more dangerous variants obsolete. Not saying I believe it, but food for thought.
