I'm going to reserve judgment on this until we know more.

Dr. Bright called hydoxy "potentially dangerous." It's been used for decades for malaria and it was never considered dangerous. Rep. Karen Whitsett sure doesn't consider it dangerous.

But not sure if he should have been removed from his position for voicing his opposition to having the government fund supplies of hydroxy.

trump purchased millions of these meds to on-sell. The person that was fired said they will not work for this virus. So trump fires another professional person who crossed swords with the coward dictator.

There is no evidence to prove this drug works on the virus. None. In fact some small studies indicate that it may increase mortality in patients with Covid-19. Trump or his mates must have a stockpile of it.

So much for following science. Business comes first.

False it has always been considered dangerous, but for malaria it has proven benefits that are much more important than the dangers, that is not true for covid19, Rep. Karen Whitsett is not a scientist nor she have any objective data to sustain what she thinks about it,so her opinion is irrelevant.

Resources (money, talent, time) so it is perfectly reasonable for the people responsible to dedicate it to those options that are more likely to give positive results and not a wildcard option that has no evidence of being useful, even if popular.

The problem with chloroquine compounds is that for the past 50 years they have become drugs searching for a disease to cure, there are literally hundreds of papers trying it against all kinds of metabolic and infectious diseases with very humble results without usefulness in real life, so most health science professionals are very skeptical of yet another disease against it is being tried.

There is no doubt it was retaliation.

I suggest that the reason the Trump administration has been so incompetent in dealing with this pandemic is that Trump has removed most of the people who are qualified to do their jobs, and replaced them with people who just tell him what he wants to hear.

In response to Paul: Americans did not elect Trump. By almost three million votes, the American people chose Hillary. It was the Electoral College that made Trump president. Two of the last three Presidents, Bush and Trump, were chosen by the Electoral College, and against the will of the American people.

Most countries that have direct elections for their top leaders would not understand the Electoral College. It was one of the things instituted by the people who wrote the American Constitution to help ensure that it would be more difficult for the states to get rid of slavery. We got rid of slavery, but the Electoral College lingers on.

Who is Karen Whitsett that she is an expert. They have conducted clinical trials at a VET center which showed it increased the mortality rate (heart). This confirmed testing that was found in Brazil. The politicians should stay out of the field of medicine unless they are trained in that field.

I say nonsense to all who are claiming there is no proof that Chorloquim is useful there is a LOT of it and many doctors use it today for the virus and it has been used for decades for other needs and has minor side effects and is NOT dangerous. The political opposition to it is ridiculous. As is the media attacks on it because it has been discussed by President Trump. If anyone takes the time to find the existing studies and papers on its use they will see there is plenty of proof that it is effective. A single study mentioned that is negative is just that a single study. There is no way with the complexity of the virus to know if worsening health is a result of a therapy any one who knows anything about treatment knows that. And it is disgraceful for people to be using derogatory names for our President, any President. It is a sad sign of the times. I am glad the man mentioned was removed from his post if he was not doing his job to find any and all possible solutions. He clearly was biased and is using the press once again to grandstand and gain sympathy.

I don't think anyone is saying chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine are not useful. But it doesn't take much searching to find they can have potentially serious side effects. The worry is that many at risk from Covid-19 are also at risk from those side effects. (e.g. those with heart conditions)

Granted she can only speak for herself, but all she knows is her health was failing and within hours of taking hydroxy she was vastly better. If this had happened to you, you would probably be giving credit where credit is due too.

The current occupant of the White House, one who does not believe in science nor understand it, continues to open his mouth at the daily reelection rallies disguised as CONVID-19 progress reports, and spouts all sorts of mindless statements, which are basically fake news, disinformation and misinformation.

Pushing out Dr Bright is normal and par for the course for this retro administration. Yesterday he suggested that cleaners and disinfectants may be ingested in order to mitigate the effects of the virus.

These actions continue to confirm he is not fit to be President of the United States of America (POTUS).
