In other words, how much more money can big pharma print?

So more unproven therapies will be continued to be pushed on the public. Lovely.

Good and informative article that do not require any special knowledge to be understood. The most important part is that there may not be a need for updating, but that is a terribly bad reason not to prepare. After all the norm is to expect the best but prepare for the worst.

Another important point is that the development and testing of the vaccines can be abbreviated in the same way as the yearly flu shots are, obviously safety and efficacy testing would still be necessary but not to the scale and degree as the first vaccines because by this point we already know a lot of things that are not necesary to be re-checked, and we are also aware of the very infrequent problems the vaccines may cause and special attention can be put to detect them.

Billions of people have had the vaccine.

If that's not proof enough for you, then you are only proving that there is nothing that could ever qualify as "proven" to you.

Yes, they have been proven to provide a few months of reduced symptoms. They have also been proven to cause serious adverse effects, including death.

Let's hope that Omicron continues to produce mild symptoms so that hopefully nobody will need these risky vaccines.

Hopefully not, fortunately the scientific community is now much more careful before trying unproven treatments thanks to the fiasco of Ivermectin and HCQ, any therapy that is to be used in the general public will at least have to prove some degree of efficacy first.

Proved to provide 10 months and counting reduction of risk of disease, complications, hospitalizations and death, with the protection never being reduced to the level of unvaccinated people, and the extremely rare negative outcomes still represent a lower risk than not vaccinating.

Everybody expect for vaccines or drugs not to be necessary, because that would mean there is not risk from COVID, but up until now that has not been ever the case judging just by the increased infectivity of Omicron it is naive to conclude this increase can be compensated with an absolute lack of pathogenicity, which would make the vaccines (and drugs, and other measures to prevent or treat the infection) still necessary.
