As with step count, the importance of pace will vary depending on what health condition you're looking at, Gabriel said.

As the experts say, exercise and maintain a healthy weight is the best and safest approach, as opposed to taking drugs, and around 6-8000 steps are the ideal range.

One way to keep yourself walking daily is to have a place to go. If you don't. it's hard to get yourself out there, like walking around in circles on a track or around a neighborhood.

If you have a reason to start walking somewhere, you'll do it. My supermarket and ATM are about 10 minutes away on foot.

If I have some shopping to do, it's always on foot. I only buy one, two or three things that I need. (Never a whole bunch of stuff at once.) Then I buy another thing the next day or later that same day.

Same with the ATM, nearby restaurants, convenience stores and post office - just walk to them.

6,000 steps a day is easily attainable with a trip to the supermarket and back. And it just feels so good to walk both mentally and physically.

The best way to keep yourself walking daily is to get a dog.

After I returned to the office last October my average daily step count according to my iphone almost doubled to around 9,000 and feel better mentally and physically.

The same as when you made this claim before you could not find any expert that supports it, since drugs do help people keep the lifestyle changes they were approved to be used by the public, explicitly contradicting what you personally believe. Also, there is no ideal range that applies in general for all people, each person requires a different kind of physical activity (that may not even include walking) to keep healthy.

Is there an accepted equivalent of, for example, 5000 steps, such as, 100 burpees, 5kms on a bicycle or rowing machine, 500 bounces on a rebounder etc?

As the article states, walking is beneficial for health, but so is all exercise, really, and many forms can be done in the home, with no equipment, and without even needing safe and well lit parks, streets, etc.

Walkers say, walking adds life to one's lifespan in days, weeks, months, years, and decades. Long live walking.

Absolutely and right in line with what is recommended.

Also, there is no ideal range that applies in general for all people, each person requires a different kind of physical activity (that may not even include walking) to keep healthy.

There is an idea that applies in general. 6-8000, based on what medical experts say. Do you have any source that says there is "no ideal range that applies in general"?

Walking and eating right are the safe ways to go. No need for drugs. Especially the older folks.

Still no link proving this applies to anybody in general, which means it remains a baseless claim.

There is an idea that applies in general

Seeing you are unable to bring even one source to prove this, what is clear is that this was just a personal idea that was not supported by the actual experts even if you mistakenly claimed so. When you fail to provide evidence of that claim that means my argument (that this is an unproven claim) remains correct.

Walking and eating right are the safe ways to go. No need for drugs. Especially the older folks.

In no part of your source it says the drugs mentioned are worse than failing on the lifestyle changes, so it still does not support the mistaken idea you had that the FDA failed when it approved those drugs for use against obesity. All drugs have risks, but when the benefits greatly outweigh those risks that means the patients are much better by using them than by not.

This is a silly assertion; the experts are medical associations, and if your assertion were true, they would never recommend medicines. Which, they clearly do.
