Locking down children, who are at very little risk to Covid, on the basis of protecting 95 year old grandpa, was not the right thing to do.

Yes it was, because children do die or get life long disabilities because of covid, low risk do not mean zero risk. This measure was made unnecessary thanks to vaccination but in China they choose not to follow the scientific advice and shunned vaccines in order to have an excuse to keep isolation as the sole basis for their approach, something that was heavily criticized by the experts and led to millions of unnecessary deaths.

People who were vulnerable (or felt that they were) should have voluntarily isolated themselves at home.

The recommendation you make was easily discarded as unproductive the the experts because it would not have reduced the risk for the general population, not even for the isolating more vulnerable one, the easy spreading of covid required general isolation to be controlled.

Forced locked downs on everybody was wrong, and the fallout is growing.

Antiscientific lock downs used against the advice of experts when it could have been replaced by vaccines many months before is what is causing this problem, which is why it is being observed in China and not as a general phenomenon in every country that had lock downs.

This is a consequence of the Zero Covid policy. Kids with less natural immunity than usual getting hit my multiple bugs.

Most governments flagged concerns of a spike in ordinary bugs this winter.

Ironically, I'm typing this with a bad cold.

Relax. The walls aren’t closing in yet.

I relaxed the entire way through China Originated Viral Infectious Disease 2019. I can do the same for China Originated Viral Infectious Disease 2024.

Better safe than sorry, close the border to Chinese visitors unless they get a health check in advance. No coronavirus 2.

I have watched various Chinese made video's over the last week concerning this, the numbers of people involved are just staggering. Hundreds of thousands are filling hospitals right now, some reports say millions, most are turned away because of no resources. The CCP in their wondrous over sight say nothing is wrong and that it could just be a flu epidemic, and if you wonder why hospitals cannot cope, it is because of the corruption by the head doctors and hospital administrators who have been bleeding the system for monetary gains for decades..........Oh, and not forgetting the officials of the local governments who also want their cuts. Yet thousands are dying and no one there gives a dam, but then it is the CCP, caring for the population is way down on their list.

after what we went through with corona, DO NOT TRUST THE CHINA-GOVERNMENT!

they will deny and deny and deny that they are the cause/origin of any problem, no matter what happens to their people and the rest of the world

Beijing responded on Thursday, saying "there has been no detection of any unusual or novel pathogens,"

Well, if Beijing said there's nothing wrong, then there's clearly nothing to worry about whatsoever, given its faultless handling of COVID-19, SARS, etc. No doubt its Ministry of Truth also later added:

"War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength."

That's factually wrong not one child in Japan has died of civil

Also there is growing concenus that the risk of and effects of long covid have been overstated
