Interesting. I have omicron right now, didn't develop symptoms until day 5 or a positive test until day 6 after entering quarantine. It's been 4 days since my positive test and my symptoms are basically gone (maybe the odd tickle in the throat, but that could be because its 0 degrees outside and I have to have the heater blasted on my face 24/7 in this matchbox sized room). I physically feel as good as I did before I developed symptoms. Good thing I only have (counts depressingly)... 8 more days until I can leave quarantine...

One of the best things we have learned from the pandemic is the value of preventive measures before the person is symptomatic, that is what have reduced so importantly so many other respiratory infections in their tracts.
Unfortunately COVID is much more contagious so only a part of the population doing their part is not enough to stop completely new cases, but it is still very useful.

I do not see how Omicron can be avoided. All of us will get in contact with it, unless we live as hermits on an island. So the best thing to do is to optimize health.... meaning among other things going outside, getting fresh air and exercise. Locking oneself in a room is the opposite of good advice.

The article is about when you can be considered contagious, taking care of your health do not change this, and neither does anything for the people you can be in contact. Going outside should be done then only with the appropiate precautions to avoid exposing other people that may have reasons that make the infection much more dangerous. If that can't be done for any reason then locking yourself in a room for a while is not likely to have an effect on your health, but it can make a huge difference for others that you no longer expose to infection.

Virusrex has never been confined it seems
It would be nice to have some opinions that stem from actual experience instead of platitudes all the time.
How about it?

Trying to "divinate" other people's condition based on your own limited and flawed knowledge makes it for completely mistaken conclusions. Assuming you must be right because you want other people to be wrong, so you imagine their situation to explain why they are wrong is not an argument, is wishful thinking.
