I am sure China will be very happy to give them the money again to keep WHO from investigating sources of never ending viruses that are popping up all over China!

I am sure China will be very happy to give them the money again to keep WHO from investigating sources of never ending viruses that are popping up all over China!

Why would China need to give any money? It has been close to 15 years where China and many other countries of the world decided the WHO did not need any political power and defanged the institution. Right now China simply has to deny entry and there is nothing anybody can do to force it to let any investigation be performed. Many of the countries that now bitterly complain about this situation are the same that caused it in the first place.

Why would China need to give any money?

China doesn't need to give the WHO any money because they are already strong allies.

The WHO has repeatedly and clearly criticized China and their response to covid, both initially and the disastrous way it choose to deal with the pandemic after vaccines were available, that is very clear evidence that this claim you make is not valid.

"Criticized" like this?

*WHO Praises China** as Country That Deserves 'Gratitude and Respect'*

*Chinese officials note serious problems in coronavirus response. *The World Health Organization keeps praising them.

"Criticized" like this?

Criticized as the references clearly prove, that reference do not disappear just because you try to ignore it and go back four years to pretend it did not happen.

The problems with the way China dealt with the pandemic were not instantly evident, so when they were confirmed all international public health institutions, including the WHO clearly criticized them, that completely disprove your claim, for it to be valid you need that the well reported criticisms do not exist, pretending nothing happened during four years means you understand it does.

Criticized as the references clearly prove, that reference do not disappear just because you try to ignore it and go back four years to pretend it did not happen.

The references prove the WHO praised China.

The WHO agency even said China "**Deserves 'Gratitude and Respect'***.

With criticism like that who needs praising?

10 ( +13 / -3 )

The references prove the WHO praised China.

And does absolutely nothing to disprove that it severely criticized it when it became clear how deficient their management was, so your claim is still debunked. You have been completely unable to refute the references that clearly prove the WHO angered China with their declarations, something that is absolutely necessary to defend your point.

The WHO should be at Davos right now, asking the important people there for $1.5b. That's chicken feed for that group.

WHO could start thinking about reducing expenses by relocating their main office from Geneva to a less attractive place, where they can observe the real world health struggles every day.

The resurgence of cholera around the globe, which Tedros said was "especially concerning"

Another abysmal failure by this agency. Which is controlled by China:

*Another area of contention is the perception of *China's growing influence over the institution.

And does absolutely nothing to disprove that it severely criticized it when it became clear how deficient their management was, so your claim is still debunked.

My claim is actually factual as proven further:

*Statements made by the World Health Organization, the international body that advises the world on handling health crises, often echoed China’s messages. *

Another abysmal failure by this agency. Which is controlled by China:

Both are claims easy to disprove, cholera and other epidemics come not because of any failure of the institution that does more in a global scale against it but because of wars and other political failures that do not depend at all on the WHO. And as demonstrated by the references and arguments that you have been unable to refute there is no merit in a claim of China controlling the global authority when it is so clear that the WHO criticizes it so strongly that it requires an angry response.

My claim is actually factual as proven further:

On the contrary, the fact that you still have to go back four years to pretend this is the current situation is what disproves it.

Or even better when even the title of the reference you bring says the contrary of what you claim

"who-criticises-chinas-data-sharing-as-it-releases-covid-origins-report"

Obviously when the WHO says it could not get the required cooperation from China to conduct a proper investigation claiming it was praising it makes no sense.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

The WHO is not to be trusted because of its historical collusion with China.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

The WHO is not to be trusted because of its historical collusion with China.

So you think the war victims do not need any support? Because the WHO is not the only one saying it, so pretending problems disappear when you don't personally like those that are calling for held does nothing.

And no, a relationship where the WHO severely and repeatedly criticizes China, enough for the country to react in anger against that criticism, is not "collusion".

No, the WHO has a long history of colluding with China. China controlled the WHO. Many sources; just look above here and save yourself some time.

Another area of contention is the perception of ****China's growing influence over the institution.

On the opposite, even the title of the reference that was used to supposedly prove this supposed collution made it clear there is no such thing.

who-criticises-chinas-data-sharing-as-it-releases-covid-origins-report

The fact that you have to go back at least four years for references to supposedly disprove things published in 2023 shows you already understand this is not the case.

You agree that the WHO praised China's handling of the Covid crisis, right?

Or are you arguing against established fact?

You agree that the WHO praised China's handling of the Covid crisis, right?

The references provided prove the WHO heavily criticized China handlings of the crisis repeatedly and that was enough to make the Chinese government react in anger. Are you arguing against this established fact?

The opposite.

The WHO praised China.

*WHO **director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who had just returned from Beijing, praised China for setting “a new standard” for outbreak response with its massive lockdowns.*

*But the committee also praised China for its “commitment to transparency” – even though government control of information continued to be a burning issue within China.*

The opposite.

The WHO praised China.

Which is still refuted with the references that already have been included in the comments that clearly prove the WHO heavily criticized China for their management of the pandemic enough to anger its government.

Repeating the same links from 4 years ago do absolutely nothing to disprove sources that refute them and are much more recent.

Great to see you accept that the WHO praised China!!

Great to see you accept that the WHO praised China!!

The claim is the the WHO is praising China's dealing with the pandemic, and therefore is "in the pocket" of the CCD, that is still completely false.

Recognizing a single contribution and then spending the next 3 years heavily coitizing how it mismanaged the whole thing is what is actually proved by the references, those are still here in the comments.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

The claim is the the WHO is praising China's dealing with the pandemic, and therefore is "in the pocket" of the CCD, that is still completely false.

So you finally understand the heaps of praising by WHO upon China.

Well done!

So you finally understand the heaps of praising by WHO upon China.

By clearly demonstrating how it is not the case and has not been for close to four years?

That is a very strange way to accept the WHO is actually criticizing China continuously for years but I guess everybody has a different way to concede their claims were mistaken.
