One of the first things a researcher learns when trying to prove the treatment they think is useful is that it is always better to measure what they say, biology is not an exact science and many times something that looks excellent on small trials ends up being worthless or even more dangerous than doing nothing.

We still don't know for sure if hydroxychloroquine will end up being useful or not, but the data is surely pointing towards it not being of help for the patients, and unfortunately this is not the first time. The temptation to prove that a cheap and readily available drug can treat something is difficult to resist and there are dozens and dozens of studies trying it to treat almost everything, from cancer to cardiac disease, unfortunately it usually ends up same as this time.

"I think it's good. I've heard a lot of good stories," Trump told reporters then, as he declared it safe.

You'd hope that the world's most powerful man would understand that we don't prescribe drugs based on "good stories", but as a result of scientific trials.

Trump just can’t get it even if he wants it.

Eh? He just admitted yesterday that he had finished taking it. He was taking it for two weeks. So he wanted it, could get it, and he got lots of it.

Is the postion of Trumpoids now that he never even took it?

"I think it's good. I've heard a lot of good stories,"

Yeah, you've told a few too Don. Better stick to recommending stuff from under the kitchen sink.

You mean, Obama’s former doctor, yes.

Boom, the Obama card. You played it far later than usual.

It does and some doctors think the drug is promising, some don’t, it depends on who you’re asking.

I'm not asking quack scientists, but I'm quite happy for Trump to be a guinea pig for all kinds of unproven medicines / household products. Let's wait until 'promising' becomes 'proven' shall we.

Dr. Siegel on FNC medical analyst said, it helped his father

Superb scientific research again from FNC. Did they have a cauldron in the studio? I'm at least glad that your personal hero Tucker no longer thinks that this is all a hoax. My mate in the pub said that his wife's milkman....

Stay focused please.

Focus on this; your captain is championing a treatment (another one) that increases the risk of death for those that take it. And if you believe that Trump took hydroxychloroquine only at his doctor's request then you are no longer a Trump supporter.

See this is trump's action. trumpet guranteed it is safe.

Is this the same doctor who made him an inch taller so he wouldn't be classed as clinically obese?

So are you saying that Trump didn't want the miracle drug that has has no proven benefits? You know, the one that he has been touting for months and is now considered unsafe and probably dangerous? Was it forced on him by his physician? Poor Donald!

You guys were all over hydroxychloroquine a few days ago. Seems now that you never liked it in the first place.

let’s try this one more time...slowly..

You said it at the same speed, so please try again

Hydroxychloroquine, the antimalarial drug touted by President Donald Trump as a coronavirus treatment despite no solid evidence as such, is linked to an increased risk of heart problems and death, a new study of nearly 100,000 COVID-19 patients concluded.

The patients treated with hydroxychloroquine or the related drug chloroquine were at higher risk of developing arrhythmia — an irregular heart rhythm that if severe and/or combined with existing cardiac problems, can lead to sudden death.

Obese, bad diet, over 70, insomniac...very smart decision Donald, perhaps you should double the dosage...

@Bass4funk, there is no way you can defend him on this one, he screwed up big time, just admit it!

Is Mr. Donald J. Trump a credentialed medical provider? No?

Then why is anyone taking any medical advice from him seriously?

It's almost as if things like this should be left to someone...I don't know, like Dr. Anthony Fauci?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

No, because there was no racist intention behind that.

I never mentioned race, so keep your shield down.

Does that apply to Chris Cuomo as well who tried a similar drug that is even more lethal?

Yes, it does. I am able to apply the same standards to two different people. You should try it.

Not FNC, “a” doctor

A rubbish one. A quack. You'd be better off with Mikovits.

Yes and many are, good for him and those that believe in the drug.

Weird how you trust Big Pharma to supply you with unproven drugs yet shriek when they give you ones that are proven.

American medical system has fail American, doctor in America has no basis treatment of the virus, but let it run it course and give machine assisted support

My shield is down, I could care less about race.

I do, I was just letting you know.

A rubbish one. A quack. You'd be better off with Mikovits.

Hmmm...his credentials say otherwise.

Weird how you trust Big Pharma to supply you with unproven drugs yet shriek when they give you ones that are proven.

No, I trust that most doctors will do the right thing to help their patients.

I’m not defending him and I don’t think he screwed up because the fact of the matter is there ARE doctors that see some positive results in the drug, so it’s ok to hear other results and not just jump on the side of the doom and gloom crowd.

American medical system has fail American,

No, it did not and as we are finding out more and more this virus was way overhyped and most of the deaths were in nursing homes that is where most of the horrific deaths occurred.

doctor in America has no basis treatment of the virus, but let it run it course and give machine assisted support

Like most countries where people were given a 20% chance of survival.

Of course they did, the stuff probably works(笑)

Yes, as you said, let’s see. He won’t even go into the steroids he takes.

Superb scientific research again from FNC.

What on Earth are you talking about? Lol.

Doesn’t help when you don’t listen and want to interject your own narrative.

"President Donald Trump’s alleged hydroxychloroquine regimen isn’t as safe as he might have some people believing.

We don’t know that, his doctor does though, he’s got the best, so he’s in good hands.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Really so why did Dr Conley claim a few days earlier, Trump was taking Hydroxychloroquine?

Who knows. Maybe he was going to explain and Trump stopped him which he would be obliged to do and that’s not a crime.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Eh? He just admitted yesterday that he had finished taking it. He was taking it for two weeks. So he wanted it, could get it, and he got lots of it.

Relax, you didn’t listen to what I was saying, let’s try this one more time...slowly..

Trump cannot get any of these drugs without a prescription it’s not about how much he has or what he has taken, he hast to have a licensed physician prescribe him this medicine or he cannot get his hands on it, they don’t give it away like Chiclets on a street corner.

White House Doctor Refuses To Say Whether Trump Is Actually Taking Hydroxychloroquine

And he doesn’t have to, Doctor and patient privilege

The only problem is that Trump’s doctor, Sean Conley, wouldn’t say whether he had given the president a prescription for the drug or whether Trump was even taking it, as he had claimed earlier on Monday.

Again, he doesn’t have to divulge that information, it’s no one’s business.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

See this is trump's action. trumpet guranteed it is safe

No, it has helped some people and besides, Trump just can’t get it even if he wants it. It Has to be prescribed by the medical physician, that means they would have to approve it before giving it to him, so this notion that it’s him deciding it is completely false.
