Yeah, right. $23.4 billion for Covid-19? What a waste of money. If the WHO disappeared off the face of the earth, WHO would care?
Skeptical
[WHO] said Thursday it needed $23.4 billion over the next 12 months for its plan to conquer COVID-19, urging the G20 to show some leadership and pay up.
Pay up?
For just a second or two, it sounded a like a loan shark talking to a delinquent customer.
Seriously, you may not believe the amount of money that the World Health Organization wants from the G20.
If you go to https://www.who.int/news-room/spotlight/10-global-health-issues-to-track-in-2021 , you can peruse the 10 global health issues that the WHO feels the world needs to throw money at:
Build global solidarity for worldwide health security
Speed up access to COVID-19 tests, medicines and vaccines
Advance health for all
Tackling health inequities
Provide global leadership on science and data
Revitalize efforts to tackle communicable diseases
Combat drug resistance
Prevent and treat NCDs and mental health conditions
Build back better
Act in solidarityWhen you are finished, here are the top thirteen urgent health challenges to finance by 2030:
Elevating health in the climate debate
Delivering health in conflict and crisis
Making health care fairer
Expanding access to medicines
Stopping infectious diseases
Preparing for epidemics
Protecting people from dangerous products
Investing in the people who defend our health
Keeping adolescents safe
Earning public trust
Harnessing new technologies
Protecting the medicines that protect us
Keeping health care cleanhttps://www.who.int/news-room/photo-story/photo-story-detail/urgent-health-challenges-for-the-next-decade?utm_source=STAT+Newsletters&utm_campaign=1931cb646b-MR_COPY_02&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_8cab1d7961-1931cb646b-150708293
Sounds expensive? Well, perhaps. It may depend on the point that the WHO considers a country to have reached to be be considered responsible for the provision of health care to its citizens on its own.
In the meanwhile, a 2015 study provides the following estimates, as the world receives bill after bill from the WHO:
The world’s population is projected to grow to 8.4 billion by 2030, up 18% on the 7.2 billion today . . . The highest population growth rates will continue to be in developing regions, accounting for 97% of the increase to 2030. The worlds developing regions will see 1.2 billion people added, a 20.7% increase; while the population of developed countries will increase a mere 3.3% adding 41 million to the current 1.3 billion people.

They will be back for more. And more.

The vast mayority of the professionals that work in public health would, specially in developing countries. Just because you choose to live ignoring the needs of others around you do not mean everybody is the same. Most people that work keeping others alive and healthy benefit in some way or another from the WHO backed programs, even after the organization was defanged after 2009 by the same goverments that criticze it now for not using its (now inexistent) power to force countries to do things.

Money doesn't solve any problem.
Why would they need to spend so much when all they do is encourage people to wash their hands and wear a mask.?
The WHO is little more than a combination con game and protection racket.
Hello there
The people at the top are laughing all the way to the bank.

Just ask yourself who are some of the WHO's biggest "donors," and it's easy to join the dots to find which people and companies benefit most from this.
Hint: it's not the average person.
