I am certainly not an expert, but from what I have read, some psychedelics offer the potential of relieving problems related to "hardwiring" of the brain that results in some maladaptive behaviors. We tend to concentrate on the entertainment value of psychedelics, but the possibility exists that they can aide with personality disorders.

That's about it. Weaklings can't handle life so they turn to drugs thinking it is an escape when in the end it just makes their miserable lives even worse. But, hey, I got my freedumb. Right?

As Terence McKenna said:  Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behaviour and information processing. They open you up to the possibility that everything you know is wrong.
