Why no mention of the strong link between food and depression.

I usually get on a plane and go somewhere tropical-problem solved…

My solution to winter depression was finding exciting to do during winter. That would be snow sports for me. The only con in that doing a winter without snow and mountains would destroy me, mentally. The short days still get to me if I'm not super busy throughout the day.

Does the above article mention exercise as a natural deterrent?

If not, disregard it.

Agreed that it should at least mention the relation between food and mental state.

Making another article dedicated to reasons and/or methods to improve ones mental health could be interesting.

But the artilce is focused on feeling down or depression caused by the type of light (or lack of) and how the illumination affects the human psyche.

Although, come to think about it since winter.. maybe the type of foods available in winter time also had its effects

Please elaborate about the food. What should we eat or not eat? And don't say beets.

Some of our family's genes come from the far north. Perhaps that is why I like both long days and long nights. It is all good. Part of the year I enjoy the long days, and part of the year I enjoy the long nights. Problem solved.
