I was interested in this story until I saw they were judging obesity on BMI, simply weight divided by height. That weight can be fat or muscle, it does not discriminate.

(I'm about as skinny as they come btw)

Odds are those people are putting on fat and not muscle.

sorry to say that, but i live in NZ for a while and most of Tongan and Samoan and Pacific people were overweight and i don't think cuz of their bone build or whatever, no offence to those people.

The average woman in many countries now weighs more than the average man did 50 years ago. Good to see that Japan is bucking the trend according to the graph.

Merely being overweight rather than morbidly obese will now make you 'as skinny as they come' in many countries, so it's not saying much. Are you objectively skinny or relatively skinny?
