This is one of those things I love about Japan. A sense of pride and fun, expressed through art. Wouldn't we all love to not only take in one of their performances, but also be able to participate? Except I'm a man. BUT, if my wife looked at their performance in amazement, I'd push her to join them, making sure she used her cane, of course! You go, girls!
