Yes, "I guess because ..." addresses "I don't remember". But was Arwen's mention in main text of LOTR prominent? It has been a long time since I last read it and wiki's note re "Her few appearances in the books ..." doesn't seem to indicate "prominent".

turbotsatDEC. 10, 2014 - 09:06AM JST The female elf in LOTR worked out pretty good but I don't remember her being in the novels.
(I guess because her story was in an appendix, not the main text of the novels as wikiing just turned up: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tale_of_Aragorn_and_Arwen.)
You're both wrong and the Wiki entry ought to be scrubbed. Go back an re-read the LOTR. There are three female elves that figure prominently in the LOTR. There are none in The Hobbit.

Nice, saw that exact quote on imgur like a week ago.

I'll save my 1800 yen, and buy a new book, I seem to have lost one of mine.

Nope. Trust the source material, especially when it's this good, or write your own story.
Jackson did a much better job with LOTR (though inexplicably left out a crucial late chapter in "The Return of the Kind"), but has made a hash of the "Hobbit" with his "tinkering."
