Hong Kong’s lawyers, doctors and university professors "all sport the skin designs."
"All" of them, Mr. Cole? Really? I mean REALLY??? Aren't you letting your enthusiasm for this silly, narcissistic practice get carried away? Your nose just grew another 3 inches -- I've never met a doctor with a tattoo in my life. Likewise for attorneys and university professors.

Yes. They are called "wenshen" (紋身)in Chinese and while not as elaborate as the ones in Japan many of the motifs used indicate the wearer's gang, rank, etc. I've seen them on some genuinely scary-looking people, none of whom, I would think, were lawyers, doctors or university professors.

Never really thought about how Chinese view tattoos. Do the Chinese mafia and gangs have tattoos like the yakuza in Japan?

Thanks for the info!

I can't stand tattoos, it's pretty idiotic if you think you'll have it for the rest of your life...

i have 3 tattoos which is my choice to have. 2 are on my upper arms and one on my lower leg so unless i am wearing shorts or a vest you would not see them, since i have never seen doctors ,lawyers or university professors wearing this sort of attire and are mostly wearing sensible clothes due to their professions then how would you know if they had tattoos or not. i could say its idiotic not to have tattoos and i hate all people without them but that is their or your choice and would be petty minded

I've met people said they thought their tattoos cool when they was young but when they get older, they grown to dislike them. Tattoo is still distasteful though.

And you know this because when working with you they are wearing nothing, huh?
