"Don't cross the streams."

"Why?"

"It would be bad."

"I'm a little fuzzy on the whole 'good/bad' thing, here. What do you mean, 'bad'?"

"Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light."

"That's bad. OK, all right, important safety tip. Thanks, Egon."

As long as they can deliver this kind of dialogue in the new movie, I'll be happy.

Good scripts and Hollywood haven't been seen together for some time?

True Grit, Black Swan, The Fighter,Kick-Ass, etc all disagree.

90 minutes of boredom interluded by a few funny lines-all of which have been mentioned on the thread,so,Ivan it needs to be a VERY good script.

Don't recycle the song which ripped off Huey Lewis's "I Need a New Drug."

@jinjapan

The only thing I think of when I think Harold Ramis, comedic genius is SCTV... But he does have a great directing/writing career too. What you mentioned ...And don't forget Groundhog Day.

I'd say give it to his son Jason Reitman, also an acclaimed director. (Up in the Air, Juno, Thank You for Smoking)

"Listen... do you smell something?"

yes. that "other guy " harold ramis, also co-wrote ghostbusters. he also did caddy shack & analyze this, among others, which were also good .

@Sarge

The "other guy" is none other than Harold Ramis who a comedic genius in his own right. More so than Murray and Ackroyd probably.

All great actors though.

Looking forward to the third installment. I'm sure they all still have the chemistry.

If that Janos guy from Ghostbusters 2 is it it, I'm watching it. Oh, and Vigo (the Scoureg of Carpathis; remember him?) was pretty hilarious too.

Didn't Ivan Reitman also make that side-splitting comedy Kindergarten Cop? C'mon Ivan, let it go buddy... I admit I loved Ghostbusters as a kid though!

Why? The first one sucked and the made a sequel that blew. Now they want to make another one with the same tired rehashed plot. Let it stay in the spirit world.

"they might have to rename the film "Retirement Home Busters"

Hey, if Harrison Ford can do Indy Jones, and Sly Stallone can do Rocky, and Bruce Willis can do Die Hard yet again, no reason why Bill Murray & Dan Ackroyd and the other guy can't do another Busters.

They all collaborated on the game, which turned out to be pretty good.

But they might have to rename the film, "Retirement Home Busters."

1st was fun, 2nd was so-so, 3rd doubt I will find out.

Yeah, it was just a silly feel-good movie that took people by surprise, thanks to Bill Murray's deadpan humor. It'll be hard to do that again. But who knows?

"Back off, man. I'm a scientist."

Gad... I am getting old. I remember seeing Ghostbusters at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland, California. Everybody was clapping and singing to the theme song. Makes me a little misty eyed thinking about those days.

"OK, she's a dog."

You don't know what it's like out there! I've worked in the private sector... they expect results!

I'm afraid of no ghosts.

The sequel was awful? Are you kidding me? Vigo, Yannosh, Bobby Brown, Jackie Wilson, how the hell could they make it better?

Been hearing about Ghostbusters part 3 since 1989, I will believe it when I'm sitting in the theater and the opening credits start rolling.

Sarge, that's the Stay-Puffed Marshmallow Man. But he was toasted in the first one.

As long as the Pillsbury Doughboy has a major role, it should be great, ha ha!

Who you gonna call?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I wouldn't be surprised if the whole movie was filmed in front of a green screen.

msrsynik: don't worry,it' sgoing to be 3DDD, it's going to be aaaw-some.lol

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Oh no. This is destined to be on the list of awful movies this year. The sequel in '89 was awful enough. A third movie in a series is rarely anything close to being as good as the original.
