Ah, Christel Waterfall River, who looks up at a camera placed slightly above her so that she can look even cuter than she actually is (because faces are more attractive viewed from slightly above). Yeah, underpaid, but she has a great wardrobe.

She looks matronly. That might be part of her appeal. The expression she has is definately matronly, whilst her boosom may not be her expression is...yup!!

That's certainly going out on a limb - 50 mil per year vs 20 mil per CM. Personally, I hope Takigawa goes indie and pulls in as much as the chumps are willing to pay her. She's great. Even if she just reads a teleprompter.

right lets get this straight..1- she gets a poor wage thats for sure. 2 - People who think its all easy and teleprompter don't know jack about TV news reader's job. The level of preparation and concentration during a live show is immense on them. They have to maintain their clear accents, not make a mistake and make sure they time their words so that it matches the programme's requirements. If your image of these TV new readers are people who get dressed, sit at the news table and just read the teleprompt then you belittling someone's profession out of pure ignorance. Trust me, I was married to one before and know what their job entails..to my marriage's detriment.

forgot to mention that I am not a fan of Cristel at all...such a boring, unemotional face....its like she can't be bothered half the time.

i'd take Tomoe Genzaki over Christel Takigawa, on any day of the millenium.

Yeah reading a teleprompter is a lot like, oh I don't know, laying asphalt, loading or unloading trucks, or solving engineering formulas. I never realized what a tough job the news readers have. They are in the profession here in Japan for looks, not talent. Look at the giggling air heads on Minomonta's show. That is the rule not the exception in Japan. Cristel is the exception.

Her cutesy 'bon weekend' 'bonne soirée' are annoying considering she started her career going by her Japanese name. Then she went back to Christel presumably to cash in on the half thing.

Says it all. The implicit understanding that workers come home at 11.30PM, undoubtedly roll into bed, grab a bit of sleep, rise early and continue on with the grind. Geeez. What a life.

Compare that with the life of a teleprompter reading talking head. Or is there a comparison?

I thought she was 100% Jpnese, to be honest. Then Troussier declared his admiration for her on tv, no doubt b/c of French genes. Then rumours about marrying Dabadie. 'whatever'..
