Japan-based American singer Leah Dizon, 22, announced her marriage and pregnancy during her concert on October 15. The announcement must have come as a shock not only to her fans but also to showbiz insiders.
“I noticed that her agent had been carefully choosing jobs for her over the last two months,” says an insider. “They must have known about her pregnancy.”
Other TV insiders noted changes in her behavior. A TV producer says, “When we went to a shrine in Osaka to shoot her promotional video, Dizon suddenly got excited about charms for a safe childbirth in front of a lot of strangers. When someone asked her if she would like to have a baby, her translator looked displeased. He must have known about her pregnancy.”
The surprise announcement also hit the advertising industry. “She was still being groomed as an entertainer and I think she could have got more offers for TV commercials in the next five years,” says an advertising insider. “I'd say her agency has lost at least 500 million yen in product endorsements due to her marriage and pregnancy.”
Meanwhile, the background of Dizon's husband Bun, who is a 29-year-old stylist, is also the subject of controversy among insiders. “He is an ex-boyfriend of Japan-based South Korean singer BoA,” says one. “He and BoA were photographed by a tabloid magazine when they were in a park at night. In the photo, they seemed to be kissing. Bun is really a big hit with girls. Maybe it's because he resembles Johnny Depp.”
At her press conference last week, Dizon asked her fans: “Please don't leave me.” But insiders actually think she should worry more about her husband than her fans. (Translated by Taro Fujimoto)

Is the "stylist" Korean, or do stylists have ludicrous stage names these days? I assumed a "Bun" was what he'd put in her oven...
I may be wrong and he may be the nicest bloke around but I can't help thinking that it looks like yet another case of a starlet getting it together with some "kakkoi" tufty haired egotistical twit who will be playing around long before the pre-natal classes have come to an end.

yeah, the picture is funny. she looks sick and thinking if she did the right thing, marrying this so called looks like Johnny Depp husband. She needs to wake up and make her realize maybe she is not meant for Japan, and in fact, she can't even sing well....and using the term "American singer" have not seen her or read about her in the US. well, wishing her all the luck and hope she takes care of her baby.

Leah needs to go back home (with her kid)to her family in the States. She looks lost in the vortex that is the Japanese culture and the "entertainment" industry, and is just embarassing herself more and more with each passing week.

Good for her that she decided to keep her child even though it means the inevitable end to her career as an entertainer in Japan. Once you get married and become a mother you are expected to disappear off the screen and into the kitchen.

And have you actually heard her speak in Japanese? She isn't half bad at all, much much much better than a lot of the usual gaijin that come over and can barely hold a conversation. Just because she needs a translator during a PR session/interview doesn't mean she can't converse.

Most foreigners in Japan need a translator, even after 3 years. The ones who don't are usually Chinese or Korean.
