Noriko Sakai hiding out in high-security ward of university hospital

Noriko Sakai has sought refuge at a university hospital in Shinjuku. Admitted on Sept 17, she has remained in a special high-security ward often used by politicians and other VIPs. The entire floor is equipped with surveillance cameras and guarded by two security personnel to prevent intruders, especially those from the media.

According to hospital sources, Sakai does not leave her room and is examined there by a mental health care physician and an urologist. She is undergoing detox by IV, which is the standard treatment for patients like her to flush the drugs out of the body’s system. This treatment is followed by various mental care programs such as group therapy.

Speaking of mental care, another reason why Sakai chose this hospital is because of her stepmother, who is also an inpatient in a different ward. Being in the same hospital allows Sakai to see her 10-year-old son who can visit his mother with relative freedom. According to a source in the entertainment industry, Sakai plans to sell her condo in Aoyama and move to her stepmother’s home in Setagaya with her son once she completes her treatment.

However, there already are rumors about her comeback, which includes the publishing of a tell-all memoir and participating in anti-drug campaigns on a volunteer basis. Some film directors and screenwriters have even expressed interest in having Sakai play "bad guy" roles.

Despite her fall from stardom, her return to show business seems to be a matter of time.

When she does make her long awaited (by some) return....all will not be forgotten but the japanese public will feel very sorry for her and welcome her back with open arms. She will be more popular then ever and will appear on every tv program driving us all insane by the typical media overexposure.

Again, this could be a smokescreen. Does getting to see the son make her a good caring mother again? I doubt it. The other thing, Yuuki was actually the product of irresponsible family planning, and that he could've have been classified as illegitimate, if not for the dekikon (which made him legit). I wonder how much TLC she REALLY expersses towards this boy, it could be as little as none...

From what you've said about this whole issue, you seem to be one to think the worst of her. She gets high a few times to escape, and all of a sudden she is the worst mother ever. You could murder your kids, beat and abuse them, and somehow she is still a worse mother. This kind of attitude is incomprehensible to me. She made a mistake, even a series of mistakes. Its cost her hugely, and yet people like yourself seem to want to believe the worst of her. Myself, I tend to think the best of people til given a reason to think otherwise. Getting caught with a barely measurable amount of drugs to me does not make her a bad mother. Someone who made poor choices yes, but a bad mother, no.

With that in mind, her wanting to see her son makes a lot of sense. Her desire to escape the media likewise makes a great deal of sense. This whole idea of a smokescreen to rebuild her image, just doesn't fly.

Glad I finally found this.

High-security ward

Sure, all that CCTVs and custom security people, so what? Non-chan's case and background is ugly, and she has definitely become a liability to the yamishakai (underworld, inner society), which would ultimately mean her head. Any resourceful rival maru-B who swear to off her could easilly infiltrate the facility, breach all security, and pop her with a cocktail (spiked) IV, warranting her erasure. Alas, that didn't happen just yet.

and she can become a Mother again.

She has become the Rabenmutter of the times instead and that won't change for the rest of her life

I think all these production companies keep a secret gameplan on the shelf to use when one of these incidents occurs

Definitely. Pretty much an undocumented but realized fact that behind all these conglomerates, it's the 893 of the yamishakai who is controlling all stakes.

Quoting a recent 2channeler's comment: "[on the bailout scene involving two alledged gangster-endorsed vehicles] One reason for not willing to reveal the absolute truths is that even many of the companies in the showbiz/mass media/advertising industries were actually founded and supported through 893 resources... ...So please, disseminate the fact that 'showbiz/mass media/advertising implicates 893 involvement' to as many people (public Joes) as possible."

You can say you do, not for others. She can rot.

Agreed, but why rot? Better not rot, but dropped by the rivals instead -- less pain.

Japan is already a changed country and stopping to trust in Sakai.

As mentioned earlier, she's also a liability to the underworld, no wonder even shadowy people would cease to trust her because of all possibilities of being ratted on by her, to save her own back.

Women changed greatly in 20 years. They are much more liberal now.

Must agree. Being good at young age simply doesn't guarantee the same wellness at advanced age, especially among women. I've seen these all and have suffered from such females even at family level, and yes, they're obnoxious and EVIL.

I suspect that what she wants more then anything else here, is to be able to see her son

Again, this could be a smokescreen. Does getting to see the son make her a good caring mother again? I doubt it. The other thing, Yuuki was actually the product of irresponsible family planning, and that he could've have been classified as illegitimate, if not for the dekikon (which made him legit). Why the heck would a casual user need to be detoxed after 30 or so days in jail? Sounds thin, very thin.

Agreed again. It's not known what the significance of this hospitalization act is, could be the hideout trick as suggested, but could also suggest other more shadowy motives that we public Joes don't know of.

Non-chan has made herself some kind of legend in this narc scandal, that's why someone has suggested that her forename be added to The Urban Dictionary, for a certain woman stereotype. Now that's interesting.

and this line is the corker of all...

LOL. Now that she has been "stained" with a crime it is time for her to play "bad guy" roles.

Sounds depressing.

I suspect that what she wants more then anything else here, is to be able to see her son. After all that time in jail, unless the police shot her up, I don't think theres anything left in her system. Only reason to stay there, is to get away from the pathetic media that apparently has nothing better to do then to cover a seriously insignificant drug story, and to see her son. So probably a bit of both.

tim, I think what Dave was just pointing out was your comments were getting repetitive and predictable. I'll just say it once here.

You don't really know Sakai alone and a woman's capability to do bad things. Like many, many male fans, you are easily enticed by Sakai's beauty, otherwise you would not join to make your own comment. Women changed greatly in 20 years. They are much more liberal now. My mother said so. Many young women now wear tattoos and even drink beer more. Last night, in a Floridan resort lobby, I saw two women were arriving in. One was totally drunk while her friend was helping her. After that drunkard saw me sitting on a bench, she made an odd approach to me. I was so scared that I had to move away. But they decided to pass me for an elevator. What a big relief. It was my first time in my life seeing a drunk female. Wow.

Just as I predicted, turns into promotion for her.

Wow, all these stories on drugs, lesbian lovers, crack-den apartment, house burning down, upcoming nude expose! I say bring on more but with more photos...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Frankly, it's none of our business. Let's stop writing comments on these Noriko stories, and they will probably go away....

@timborder-I normally do not agree with you...

Again, I don't understand why any sort of concessions should be given to this drug-addled bint who has destroyed her own career and potentially thrown the life of her child in the shxtter.

...but totally support you on this one.

JPgirlXpert-lol. So what truth did you bring to light? She did make a mistake and as a celebrity, she is getting hurt by the media. That is the nature of the beast.

Why, cause down the road, how many legal ramifications is she going to run into? If she does a little time, so what? You going to say she does not deserve it? She has money, lawyers and a full support group, plus her little internet saviors like yourself. Anyway, when you bring up some "truths" to what happened, why she ran and ditched her kid all in the hopes that she would not get caught, I will gladly read and think about it for face value. But until then, please stop whining.

I never write and participate in such things as this, but this is one time I am forced to write and defend. I have fairly extensive experience in Japan and my better half is Japanese.

My wife (of 28 yrs) and I sincerely empathize with Ms. Sakai in her current plight for all of the right reasons.

Too many here apparently have little or no real knowledge let alone any experience with such situations and ‘stuff’. If you did, you would not be so harsh and cruel to this young lady. She needs true friends and support now, not unrighteous, finger-pointing, ignorant snivelers from a far.

Ms. Sakai’s forthcoming challenges will be difficult to overcome, but doable. The combined self-med ‘stuff’ she was doing is known to be a bit evil but not for the reasons allot of people think it is. It is something that is intoxicatingly enjoyable on one hand and so potentially devastating on the other. Do not be so harsh with Noriko!!! It’s easy to point and stare when another is down and down hard – and for Ms. Sakai, it is all in the direct public eye. Nowadays, that is instantaneous, widespread, and global. She is a Japanese woman with troubles, and she is in Japan. Can anyone really imagine the hurt and confusion she feels now? We and especially I can!!!

For those of you that are most critical here, I challenge you to demonstrate your true knowledge of this subject within these specific, Japanese circumstances for Ms. Sakai. Having watched a TV program or two does not qualify you to say anything here. If your knowledge has been garnered from only one or two sources and either or both of those sources is public consumer media, go away – just go away until you learn the facts. Then you will have a slightly better chance at divining the real truth about this ‘stuff’. If your knowledge has been derived via a TV especially American TV, it is more likely than not adulterated and skewed and therefore invalid – back-to-school-for-you. You must realize that most TV programs are products produced for public consumption. Key words in that statement are: products, produced, and consumption – need I say more? YIKES!

Truth does not typically sell well. The perceptions of allot of people are misaligned since they are not based on truths. The truth in this case is far from what I am reading. The purported facts are sketchy. Let’s assume for now that these tidbits of information are truthful facts. That is only half of what makes this complex and incomprehendable by allot of people. Some of you appear to get it; others are unwitting fools. [It is the fools not the foolish that always scare me most.] Ms. Sakai is not a fool. She has just learned something that allot of you will not have the opportunity to learn. She will be profoundly wiser because of this. However, if people and the legal system continue to chastise and rebuke her unfairly as they have been doing already for such a minor mistake, it will harm her. Consequently, she will suffer it for the rest of her life. That is just NOT right!!!

You can help by being supportive in your comments and if you have the facts and know the real truth, with your understanding, you can help her to understand it and begin to blossom again. On the other hand, if you do not understand and continue to belittle her, you are hurting her. Shame on you for hurting such a young lady, girl, women, and female. It is not right for anyone including the legal system to torture her any more. Enough is enough!

She made a mistake and a minor one at that. So what? Shall we sneak a peek in your closets?

Help her if you so dare and stop hurting her if you don’t understandably care.

NOTE To: Ms. Sakai, Noriko san: Even if you were seduced into it, take charge now and do your best! Good luck, good fortune and most important, good health! PS: It is doable!

"Noriko Sakai hiding out in high-security ward of university hospital"

Sounds depressing.

Whether it's excessive or not, the media isn't necessarily alone in driving this madness. It's the same thing you see the world over ... people like to read about the salacious little details of those in the public eye. I believe some of the moderators here have even commented about this, in regards to page traffic. If you really don't like it then don't post and don't read, simple as that. The fact is, though, alot of people do.

Living with her step mother may not be a bad idea, but her home is still in Tokyo. Sakai can continue to go to filthy places if she wants to. She will not have to clean the house. It may be better for her kid. But she can't look too ahead and prematurely tell about her plans. First, she should worry about the court.

Looks like Sakai is undergoing a major treatment to detoxify her body. This is a big job. That tells her drug using was not so small. .If she used it a few times, she may not need an advanced treatment. I don't think that she should participate in anti-drug campaigns anymore. Japan is already a changed country and stopping to trust in Sakai.

Sakai can go ahead to tell all in her book. Will she sell books in English?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

'to prevent intruders, especially those from the media' - doesn't that make the media look like criminals?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Does she need to flush the drugs out of her body?

No, she needs to flush the media out. But that's not going to happen until the next celebrity mishap. Quick, somebody -- get arrested!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Does she need to flush the drugs out of her body? This all started 45 days ago. How long do drugs remain in the body? I agree with most comments that this is an unnecesary show.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Those of you who are trying to say that doing drugs is ok, please go ahead think that way and do whatever harm to your self. And you will also have to tolerate the bickering and nagging and all forms of punishment others give you for your actions.

As for Sakai, I do feel sorry that she seems to have been lead the wrong way by family and other selfish people. But if she is doing more damage to herself and her kid by doing porn stuff, then sorry, no sympathy for you. I agree with Ichyawarfare that she rots. I wish I could just slap her and take that child away from that woman.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Thanks for the comment Dave. Let's just agree to differ. Obviously the criteria we are using are totally different. My own upbringing was zero tolerance regarding drugs and I still abide by such ideas. In fact, if real crucifixion were an option as punishment, yours truly would be handing out the nails.

Again, I don't understand why any sort of concessions should be given to this drug-addled bint who has destroyed her own career and potentially thrown the life of her child in the shxtter.

timorborder.

Please excuse me if I don't shed a tear for this hardcore druggie.

You have really become predictable with your comments on Sakai. We get it. You don't approve of recreational drug use. Stop it with the hardcore druggie remarks.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

We wish you a better luck in all you wanna do,Noriko! There is still so much you can achieve! Ganbare!

You can say you do, not for others. She can rot.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Her fall from Stardom?

Surely she is now more well-known than ever? No such thing as bad publicity.... although I guess Mr. Polansiky may have something to say about that.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

High-security ward = padded cell? Please excuse me if I don't shed a tear for this hardcore druggie.

Indeed, I would prefer he to be receiving treatment in a glass-walled cell, imagine the money the hospital could make if that happened. It would be just like those poor pandas at Ueno Zoo. Then again, the whole experience might become so popular that I would have to drag my kids there. "Dad, can we feed the chimp?"

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Weren't most people predicting she would come back anyway?

This entire thing is still so ridiculous...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Everybody plays the Fool sometimes! Not that you committed an unforgivable sin. Nah! It is your life! Just find the strength within you to beat the temptation. Usage of synthetic recreational drugs if uncontrolled, wrecks lives! But then, we are all human! We wish you a better luck in all you wanna do,Noriko! There is still so much you can achieve! Ganbare!

I'm sure her production company had this all planned out the minute hubby was arrested - they have too much invested in her and will do anything to "facilitate" her rehabilitation so they can start getting the profits flowing again. I think all these production companies keep a secret gameplan on the shelf to use when one of these incidents occurs......

0 ( +0 / -0 )

She can play a baddie in a Roman Polanski movie. That will get her and him an asscar.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Why does she need to undergo detox? It doesn't sound like she was more than a casual user. I think the real answer is in the title of the article, she's just hiding out.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

She can always "hide out" at my place. Anyway, I hope this drug treatment works and she can become a Mother again.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

i agree with dolphingirl. definitely this is all for show. she was an infrequent user of drugs at best.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"her return to show business seems to be a matter of time"

Will she be on Kohaku or K-1?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I think the reason she went to the hospital was to make it look like she was regretful and seeking help for her 'drug problem' (probably a recommendation from someone) After spending over a month in detention, any drugs would have already left her system. (besides, wasn't the urine test negative!) So saying that she is 'undergoing detox' and getting 'mental care' sounds like it's more for her image than anything else. I sympathize with her but I have no respect for someone who just does things based on what they think others will think of them.
