Looking for an opportunity to learn conversational Japanese in the most fun way possible? Maybe WeLearn Community might be the right place.
As a Japanese language learning service, WeLearn offers multiple group lessons every week through an online platform, so you can join from not just Japan, but anywhere in the world.
They provide engaging theme based lessons such as “Learning Japanese phrases through Anime lines,” “How to dine in restaurants in Japan,” “Going shopping in Japan,” “Onomatopoeia,” and many more. For those who want to get into details of the language, there are lessons that focus on grammar or pronunciations as well. Their Instagram account also releases helpful videos on vocabularies and key phrases.
The online lessons are conducted at different times of the day to match the needs of users residing in different time zones. As of now, there are lessons conducted at following days and times.
- Monday 10 a.m. JST
- Monday 7 p.m. JST
- Wednesday 7 p.m. JST

Current users include those living in Japan, Australia, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, India, Italy, the Philippines, Russia, the United States and others.
The instructors are all native Japanese speakers who are also proficient in English and or other languages to help guide learners at different levels of their Japanese learning journey. The lessons are divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes so there will be a class that best fits your Japanese ability for sure.
Another fun experience you can’t miss out on are offline meetups. For those who live in Japan, or in the country traveling, they can drop in and join the in-person events that take place once a week in Akihabara, at the heart of Tokyo. Compared to the online lessons, the in-person meetup is in a more casual setting with drinks, learning through conversations with teachers and fellow learners, and playing simple Japanese board/card games. On some occasions, seasonal events such as Halloween and Christmas parties are held.
Last but not least, one of the most appealing parts is the friendly price setting. All of the lessons and events introduced can be enjoyed unlimitedly with just U.S.$10 per month. There is also a pay-as-you-go plan where you pay for each lesson individually, but price wise, the monthly subscription is highly recommended. However, for those that want to try before signing up for a subscription plan, this might be an option.
The instructors are very passionate about sharing their love for the language and unique culture of Japan. Through the online lessons and in-person events, you will not only be able to learn the language, but to also pick up on, and experience the customs and Japanese way of life..
So what are you waiting for Japanese learners? There is no reason not to take advantage of this opportunity to help you master the Japanese language. For more information, please check out their website here.
