Maybe, but I never was when I met them, always was meself, don’t act different than when you’d meet anyone else.

Fully agree. Pretending to be something you are not is a bit pathetic and people can see right through it.
Very unattractive to all people abd not just in a romantic sense. All very sad.
These kind of dating apps and social media in general see a lot of this. Weirdos.

Well, I never used them, when I was split from my wife I spoke to my mate at his bar and he mentioned a nice lady who had lived in England and was now divorced and single and asked if I’d like to meet her. Did and hit it off right away, lots of things in common, strangest one was she had lived less than a mile away from me in South London in 96. Funny old world and all turned out alright and now she’s a stepmom to my son and they get on really well.
That was a stroke of luck, you won’t often get it all working out and click fast, some people meet loads before they find anyone that’s right you see.

Echoing countless people that are thinking the same.
Seeing how the apps are giving up trying to put people into romantic relationships and that is unlikely the current boom of friendships will last, maybe the next step are going to be apps that pair people with accounts in "Only fans" so they can be lonely very efficiently...

Not new information, read the comment again.
And also reference needed, a personal preference is not an argument to say something "should" or not be done.

Well, apparently I was too mild on my prediction, it seems the new trend is for companies to make an AI clone of the user that then can go have dates with the AI clone of other users to find a perfect clone-clone match...
