Vogue Fashion's Night Out made headlines around the world when it launched in New York in 2009, but these days the shopping and entertainment event has left its birthplace but instead is celebrated in other cities around the world. Luckily for us, Tokyo is still one of those cities. In fact, this year will mark the tenth Fashion's Night Out in the Japanese capital, and looks like it will be another great one.
Taking place on Saturday, the event will start from 11 a.m., with peak hours running between 5 and 10 p.m. Shops all around Omotesando, Harajuku and Aoyama will participate, with most of the action centered around Omotesando Hills and LaForet Harajuku. Some things to look forward to include live musical performances, a tenth anniversary ceremony, and special talk events with brands such as Bulgari and Y-3.
Fashion's Night Out is always one of my favorite autumn events in Tokyo. The participating shops stay open later than usual, and there's a fun, carnival-like atmosphere all throughout the area. Omotesando, Harajuku and Aoyama already offers some of the best shopping in the city, especially the shops at Omotesando Hills and LaForet Harajuku, and things only get better during FNO.
Some shops I'm looking forward to checking out this year include Ciroi at Omotesando Hills, which will be celebrating the Japanese tsukimi moon-viewing event, Nude N' Rude at LaForet, which will be selling shoes inspired by Japanese foods, and MILKFED. HARAJUKU at LaForet, where there will be a special photo booth in collaboration with Passoa passion fruit liqueur. There's a lot to enjoy, so why don't you check the FNO this year?
