If they could see what happens to Japanese kids by the time they reach university, I think they'd have second thoughts about Japanese education.

Japanese education method that emphasizes moral training and social harmony
Instead of encouraging and nurturing each student's individual character, hopes and abilities. My son goes to a Japanese elementary school and sports day is the embodiment of this rediculous ideology which has resulted in a nation of yes men and women and a total total lack of vision, decisiveness and individuality. Japanese society could be compared to ' the borg' in Star Trek. Come junior high, no way is my son going to a public jr high school ( admittedly private schools can be just as bad ).

Pity the developing nations. Inculcating a blind obedience in a dictatorship, that’s going to go down well!

Enforced mediocrity, groupthink, subservience to point of the ridiculous, ( meme-worthy to infinity ) a teach to the test mentality so deep that the minute the poor captives are finally free they have an aversion to learning for life. But hey, cleanliness is next to godliness.
The architects of the lost decades would do these countries a favour to keep their 'gifts' to themselves.

Late last month Trump enacted such a 'patriotic education' agenda for all schools, before his attempted self-coup on Jan. 6. On his first day in office, Joe signed an Executive Order abolishing this. Thank God.
