I think productivity would actually go up because people would be at home and would want to finish early. Their bosses wouldn't have an excuse to make them sit at their desk until the last train so they'd do everything by the end of their shift!

Yet, male managers are not credited with the pre-bubble SUCCESS of corporate Japan.

Nothing to do with short of labour, too many japanese do not like to work like their fathers generation because these japanese had life too easy. They want everything by giving nothing. I have seen such kind. they are just waiting for their parents to kaput and they can have everything for nothing. I truly feel very sad for these kind.
