I have always believed in buying quality (not designer) as it will last and in the long run is cheaper, most especially shoes. I have quality leather shoes that are over 30 years old.

Hard to find a good cobbler. Always wondered what antique looked like.

Well bulling boots is different from polishing shoes. To prevent cracking you would need to break the boots in before bulling. I never had to melt the polish. We certainly melted the bees wax onto the boots, and then started to bull them up a little later at a time with kiwi. If the polish cracked it was because too much, was put on.Too thick. Still loved bulling my DM boots and putties.
