Anyone under the age of 50 should be evacuated forcibly. Not to do so is a death sentence. Maybe, there should be a screening of deformed fetuses, birth defects and chronic radiation induced diseases to persuade the residents of the fate that lies in store for them. How is it that the Russians could evacuate the population of Chernobyl within days but the Japanese are clueless?

Frankly speaking, these ojiichan and obaachan might live an even more dreadful (and perhpas shortest) life outside their "terroir", even though it has been irradiated. Glad they are allowed to spend their last years in their neighborhood.

It must be really hard and tough for the villagers who have lived there all their life. I feel really sorry for them and their situation.

At least the government are doing all that they can to help everyone. Hang on... No there not, they are more interested in their own selfish power and control struggles and trying to force Kan out.

Damn if you do, Damn if you don't.

Understand not wanting to leave, but everyone must think about the fallout 10 years down the road. Sad.
