Japan's quirky, quake-resistant dome houses prove a big draw

They are beautiful. They add a unique atmosphere and character to the town

When I first read about these domes years ago, I wondered why they didn't become more popular.

I can imagine the construction industry being particularly against them as they would cut all the profitable corners from a bloated industry.

A bit, expensive 18K person per night. But apparently it's still closed for Earthquake repairs.
