Mind-controlled tail wags based on your mood

Do friends never know how you’re feeling based on facial cues? Ever find yourself enviously looking at your dog and its expressive posterior appendage?

Oh tailless one, you are in luck. From the makers of Necomimi mind-controlled cat ears comes Shippo, a mind-controlled tail that wags based on your mood.

Once attached to your backside, the mechanical moving tail is connected wirelessly to a brainwave sensor headset via bluetooth. When switched on, Shippo ”waves with your ‘mood,’” letting the whole world know just how you feel regardless of your facial expression.

According to Neurowear, the Japan-based makers of this furry appendage, Shippo is designed to move vigorously when it senses deep concentration and slowly when brainwaves are perceived to be in a relaxed state. Your mood is even read and logged using Shippo‘s accompanied app which also tracks the user’s location and shares that information via Facebook or Twitter.

Although Necomimi cat ears are available for purchase, unfortunately, Shippo is still in the prototype stage and Neurowear hasn’t announced a release date yet.

Check out the tail-wagging action here.

Amazing technology. Freak and weird as hell!

Does it also stand erect if you are in a particular mood?

It is amazing yet bloody weird.

It should come with a free colouring book and crayons, because anyone who buys this must either be a child, or have "learning difficulties".

Has it really come to the point that we need something like this to tell others how we are feeling all the time?

Determine your mood: maybe. Document your location, Facebook interactions, spending habits, and contact lists: definitely.

it can track your location and log your mood.... in about ten years.. it'll be able to control your mind and then you'll really be acting like an animal.

What happens when you place it on the front?

I like bunny girl tails. Bit short to tell the mood but one can guess ;-)

Mind-control is the key word here, lets market products to a dwindling population who have problems with social interaction and no opinion on anything other than their shallow selves.

If so, I hope it also makes the sound: Boioioioionnnng...

What do we mean when we say we're out chasing some tails? How do gals chase their own tails anyway?

Haha, first the ears; now the tail. Pretty soon, the transformation would be complete. How about perky tits next time?

Oh my. That is asking for the classic quote:

"Is that a tail your pants, or do you really like me?"

Not in ten years, right now. If you've bought it, that shows your mind is controlled by marketing... and yes, you act like an animal. Oh Fido ! Sugar ? No, no : o-te ! Good,. o-shippo ! Bravo ! Waaw Fido, I give you 2 sugars...

First there was the Nekomimi, now the Inu-?. If you wear both of them at the same time, to they "agree" with each other as to your mood? :-)

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Now they need to sell them as sets.

Furrys everywhere just wet themselves.

Maybe they can market these as an anti suicide device. Let the strangers around you know you are sad by drooping your tail. So much easier than talking to friends and family.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

because mood rings are too discrete

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Don't they have anything better to do ???

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

What happens when you place it on the front?

Most guys already have one from birth; it operates in a very similar manner, indicating your mood automatically for you.

Its effectiveness diminishes with age though...

the furries are taking over!, No mind controlled bloody nose device yet?

Another painfully outdated article from rocketnews.

Yes, two years ago a Japanese guy actually made such a tail. They even showed it off at the Miraikan in Odaiba, so why the hell is this considered news? It's like saying "Bic invents new ball-point pen, uses small ball at the tip to write!"
