Nothing like the good-ol’-days way of living. Strong communities were there taking up the slack families had. Keep going.

A home helper, but who is also trained in issues related to childbirth and babies and can do counselling. Cool!
Every grandmother in Japan seems to think a baby will die of cold if taken outside in the first month. This is in spite of some breastfed babies getting jaundice (our youngest did), which is treated with UV. A new mother would be better off listening to someone with training than an insistent grandmother armed with old wives' tales. Old wives' tales that may not include using a baby seat in the car.
