Saitama Prefecture, located just north of Tokyo, is known for its "Little Edo" Kawagoe, the greenery of Chichibu, and the mountains of Nagatoro. 2021 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Saitama City, a new municipality combining Urawa, Omiya and Yono cities.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the city is holding a special version of its annual Saitama City Fireworks Festival. This time, in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection, the festival will be a "Stay at Home" fireworks festival without spectators gathering outside.

Fireworks will be set off for about 5 minutes at several locations in the city, and the event will be broadcast on TV and YouTube. Whether you live in Saitama or anywhere else in the world, this is a great opportunity to experience a traditional fireworks display from the safety and comfort of your own home!

In order to prevent people from gathering, the date, time, and location of the fireworks will not be disclosed in advance. The video will be made available after the event.

Please note that in case of stormy weather or if too many people gather at the site, the organizers will have no choice but to cancel the event.
