Totally agree.

Kids first.

If kids at risk because of their parents, of course split required. But that shows wrong from the start or specific event (alcohol issue usually).

Nowadays is very driven for adult pleasure first.

Good luck to every couple but think before not after.

Yes, children are important, which means they deserve not to live in an unhappy, dishonest, or abusive household. That is far more damaging than adapting to a two-household family.

Why stay in a relationship if it doesn't make you happy. It's better to be alone than with a wrong person.

Nothing guarantees a multi-generational dysfunctional family than ‘sticking together for the sake of the kids’. Kids growing up in a house where the parents are constantly bickering will warp their sense of what a family should be. Better for the kids to grow up with one happy adult than two unhappy adults.

@Everyone - better to find a balance of acceptability between the parents even if they've grown apart, in order to maintain a sense of stability for the Kids. For example - Father can spend 1 day away from home, and Mother can spend 1 day away alternating, from the Family home and then 1 day "together", etc.... seems a bit more like normal life to me.

And... Parents can spend time at home together without being together...until nighttime, when if really that bad , sleeping arrangements can be sorted out....

Divorce can be better than dishes and vases flying across the room. Think of the kids.

Word of advice:

Make it work.

Stop looking for better.

Did you learn anything in the past year of Covid19 lockdown? Being alone is terrible! Suicide rates are up, being single and alone you're more likely to do something stupid.

You think your grandparents didn't have challenges? Arguments? Temptations?

They made it work. Still together. That's how it was for a long time before the internet, before modern people with their unrealistic expectations in life and from others around them.
