Shu Uemura reveals awaited holiday makeup collection collaboration with Hello Kitty

Shu Uemura’s holiday collection has become an awaited tradition for makeup enthusiasts in Japan. Every year they reveal a festive and awesome collection in collaboration with various pop culture icons. They’ve previously given us an electrifying Pikachu lineup, and last year they sailed the high seas with a treasure trove of One Piece items.

This year they’ve teamed up with another Japanese icon in the form of Sanrio’s most recognizable creation, Hello Kitty.

The inspiration behind the collection is glamorous rock and Tokyo night scenes. The colors are on the darker side, with plenty of shimmery and glittery options for an edgy chic look.

The makeup on offer includes eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, highlighters and foundation, as well as makeup tools and Shu Uemura’s super popular cleansing oil. All the packaging has fun and cute Hello Kitty designs that fit the glam theme.

The Disco Glitz lipstick even has a pretty bow design on the lipstick itself.

There will be two releases with different products appearing each time. The first drop consists of 12 items which were released on Nov 1. The second release will offer four more items which can be copped from Nov 15. The collection can be found online as well as in Shu Uemura stores and makeup shops. It will also be available on the first floor of Sanrioworld Ginza.
