A combination of standing and sitting is probably the best option. In other words split your time between standing and sitting because standing all day can lead to back, knee or foot problems. The easiest way to accomplish this is to use a desk that can be raised upward or a tall chair that you can pull up to your desk, when you need to sit down.

These people using these standing desks must not have flat feet.

I just had a guy make me a standing desk a few months ago & also a high stool which sits under the desk while I stand, pull out as I want & sit, switch it up & I have a regular desk nearby as well with a great old wooden chair, mixing it up is GREAT, if you can try it.

My standing desk is about 1m high, I find it very comfortable, also easy to nibble away at lunch while you work if your busy & for a break I step outside to enjoy some fresh air, take a stroll & leave my "dumb phone" on the desk for a break, that's the best!

I worked for a company that offered desks that could be elevated with a simple hand-operated crank system. It was so easy to raise the desk up and stand and then lower it when desired. Most people in the office took the opportunity to stand, at least occasionally. I don't know why it isn't more commonplace.

As some have stated a combination of both is good. The best is to actually be suspended in water while working.... Hahaha
