I loved it when a 120 minute cassette that took hours to record on got eaten on the first playback!
Bring back eight tracks! I loved the clicking sounds between song lyrics!
And 48’s as well!

Ah nostalgia, it isn’t what it used to be!
It was an entirely different world, having to “rescue” the tape from the machine and it was always useful to have a pencil on hand to rewind the yards of tape afterwards!
Never really got in to vinyl, I still have my collection of tapes from the 70’s somewhere ( perhaps I could flog them to these people?) but I really preferred the CD and mini CD. As said in the article I prefer to own the music and re-play it at will. Downloads are not your property.

Remember sticking a tape recorder next to the radio to catch my favorite tunes and getting furious at my sisters if the made any background noise.

Personally, I am glad cassettes are gone, too bulky, hassling, quality was never that great, having periodic tape salads was a hassle, I was glad to see them phased out and while they bring back a lot of memories, they also bring back horrid memories of anger and frustration at times. But I think it's good that a store like this is around to cater to people that are into cassettes, there is a niche market for everyone these days.
