MTV reinvents itself — again — with new generation

brings back “Beavis and Butt-head” later this year

MTV used to be so good in the 80's. Lots of good music non-stop. Nowadays lots of CMs and as a music station I don't see why it should have series at all.

I just watched PBS Frontline: "Merchants of Cool". Perfectly fits.

"MTV viewers “want more from us,” said Van Toffler, president of MTV Networks Music/Films/Logo Group. “They expect more from us.”

You know what I'd like and expect from a channel with the word MUSIC in it's name? How about some more MUSIC related content? How about that? Or are you just going to make another ten spin off channels to make up for it? At least MTV Japan still plays videos.

I miss MTV when it used to play MUSIC. Foxie is totally right.

MTV where's the music? You need MTV 2 or 3 for that.

Over the years, one of the last things you’d see on the youth-obsessed MTV was a music video.

That is seriously how I thought the first line was going to read.

In the 90s MTV was THE channel. Now it is the kids, disney and god knows what else. Have kids lives become so boring the need reality shows instead of reality? We're sanitizing our children by letting them live at home till a later age and communication mostly behind a computer screen.

What happened to playing in the streets getting dirty with the neighbourhood kids, toys, adventure games, SPORT?? Now the most interaction children have is what they do when they have their heads stuck in an iphone or facebook.

The 90s were a good time. Im glad I was born before.....THIS happened.
