With social distancing and stay-at-home protocol being urged as a countermeasure against the novel coronavirus, those who have the ability to work from home are beginning to adjust to handling their daily duties in a new environment. While there are certain perks to working from the comfort of your home, it can be a bit difficult to channel the same level of concentration that you get from your office.
Fortunately, Japanese retailer Sanwa Direct has just the thing to help you maintain focus as you work from home: a personal privacy tent and work space.
The privacy tent comes packaged compactly in a bag (where it can be stored), but is easily set up into an opaque booth that can fit a computer and chair, making it a great fit for gaming, work, or simply private relaxation without any distractions.
The privacy tent is available for order from Sanwa Direct for 7,980 yen. If you're looking to keep focused and practice some social distancing as you work from home, or maybe just need a personal gaming space, the privacy tent might be your new best friend.

Wow, even comes with a handy carry strap to carry it from the store to your home where you're going to use it. Oh wait, it's delivered to your home by Sanwa Direct!
This is useless, it doesn't even cut down, much less eliminate noise from the kids, TV, pets, wife, husband...

As if being stuck inside a small apartment doesn't induce enough claustrophobia, are some people determined to make a miserable life even more miserable?

Out of sight, out of mind. With young kids, the common question is “Where’s papa/mama?” In small apartments, I can see this working well and preventing arguments why the one spouse isn’t keeping the kids from bothering them while they work. As for noise, earplugs work.

It looks like some kind of psychological torture. Useless in that it does not eliminate noise, smell and other distractions and mentally damaging due to the claustrophobic environment, not to mention the lack of light and colour.
How many people have room for one of these in their home anyway? If you have a spare room use that, otherwise where would you put it. Useless waste of money.

Do Japanese people find it that unbearable to spend time with their family?

Reminds me of a Kids play-tent.... the kind filled with plastic balls, and folding it back up to put back into its bag was a nightmare!
Pointless.

No wait... could this possibly be a Commuter's PPE ?

I spent seven days in a small apartment in Kichijoji, and if I wanted to pitch this tent I would have to move my bed to the hall.
I also worked from home for fourteen days, and it was like this:
the first week: "why can't we work from home all the time?",
the end of the second week: "hello boss, can I go back to the office, please, please, please ..."
I live alone and have become a burden to myself in those 14 days with all this "stay at home" thing.
Now I understand that there can be friction if both husband and wife work from home.

I love it. I very well might order one.
Exactly. I don't even live in a small apartment, but I could use this to keep from being distracted. Jump in there with some noise canceling headphones, and the distractions fall away.

I wonder if these are covid defending - those having to still work in the office could bring them.
