A few Whoppers

This summer, Burger King will be hot. Last week, the Angry Whopper went on sale, and on July 23, the Crazy Whopper (photo) will debut. Both burgers have added spiciness.

With the Angry Whopper, in each and every country, the flavor is slightly altered to suit the local taste. In Japan, it uses miso as a base, and several kinds of spices (chili paste, chili powder, red pepper, etc). The three levels of spiciness are: “Uma Kara” which means yummy spicy (420 yen); “Piri Kara” which means sharp-spicy (480 yen); and “Geki Kara” which means extreme-spicy (540 yen).

The Crazy Whopper uses Bhut Jolokia, certified as the world's hottest chili pepper by Guinness World Records. This burger is said to be 30 times spicier than the Angry Whopper.

Few Burger Kings now, used to be more but than Burger King pulled out of Japan. Lotteria now has the franchise and converted some shops to Burger Kings, like Sunshine City(Ikebukuro), Asagaya(I use that one). Check their website for a listing of some places.

I like their burgers but not sure about the ones mentioned above.

IMHO, most places beat McD, if I got to McD I only eat their fish-burger, hashbrown and icecream sunday.

@lovausa There is a spice measure scale calle SCOVILLE SCALE. Look it up on wikipedia. It also lists how spicy different are, for example how spicy a jalapeno is compared to the pepper used in pepper sprays.

I would say that in practically all the countries I've been to where there is a BK and a McD's,BK wins easily in terms of product (taste quality etc). However they also coct quite a bit more than McD's...

Does it come with a package of Tums and a roll of TP?

magpie.

I don't mind paying as long as the quality and quantity matches a realistic price, same for stuff besides burgers.

And NO I am not rich or even that well-off. IMO, Burger King offers more best deal around I would say NO.

Nope, Burger King isnt the lunch youre dreaming of, by any stretch of the imagination. But as almost any American living here will tell you, live in Japan long enough, and food from BK, Taco Bell, will sound good to you.

BK, Taco Bell, Sizzler, Shakeys, Wendy's, etc are decent for non-americans too. :P

Pity that you need to hit a Military base to get a Taco Bell and there are way too few Chicago's Pizza places around.

What a lovely advert for a product with enough salt to cause an instant stroke! Stay away from this thing, folks...

Coming soon: The Road Rage Whopper and the Go Postal Whopper.

Please build a Burger King in Hiroshima too. There are a lot of people who want to visit Burger King, but can't justify the shinkansen ticket to Tokyo to do so. Same goes for Krispy Kreme...
