Burger King will release an apple-topped burger called BK RiNGO for a limited time from March 9 to 22.

BK RiNGO is a Whopper Jr-sized burger sandwiching a grilled beef patty, lettuce, honey-mustard sauce, and a 7mm slice of a flame-grilled apple.

During the sale period, customers who buy BK RiNGO will get two BK Chicken Wings for free.

The price of the BK RiNGO will be 240 yen for just the burger, and 490 yen for a combo meal, so it can be enjoyed with just one coin.

Seems like they are a bit bored in the R & D division. There are so many other ways to get people into your establishment.

Remodel. Set up tables that can accommodate laptops. Put some more power outlets so people can plug up.

How about some TV screens? Run music videos or short programs. Call Usen and ask them to service your restaurants with music.

There are so many ways to make a lasting impression that would keep customers coming back. These campaign burgers will undermine Burger King's American Spirit which is what the customers go there for.

BK needs to take a lesson from Starbucks and focus on a more comfortable environment. Whenever you eat a burger as big as a Whopper it's best to take your time and not feel any pressure to ingest the thing at maximum speed.

Same with Wendys foie gra burger. Don't Japanize burger king!

I had pizza with apple slices on it here and it was great!

Good way to get rid of over stock. As for a Ringo Burger...um...no.

I will definitely try this.

I will definitely try this.

I do not think people are interested but I will definitely not try it.

This gives fast food a bad name.

The height of American cuisine.

"This gives fast food a bad name"

After you try it you might be able to say that. Then again, you might say "Gat dam, this is good!"

"The height of American cuisine"

Ha ha, OK, let's have your amazing recipe for good food, lol.

Like "Love not" i am 200% sure i will never try it and 500% sure to put that junk food out of my eyes, nose and mouth.

How can people eat that ?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Natto and cold grape fruit burger would be great if they added corn.

I want to try the apple burger. At least no windows people have complained about it yet.

What's not to like? Flame grilled beef, lettuce, honey-mustard sauce and a flame grilled slice of apple on a sesame seed bun! I'll let ya'll know this weekend how good ( or bad ) it is. I wager it's definitely worth 240 yen.

Ha ha, OK, let's have your amazing recipe for good food, lol.

Good food in my books is healthy, nutritious, tasty food, not grease and carb mountains.

"not grease and carb mountains"

Cripes, that would eliminate a lot of Japanese food.

I'll admit there's a lot of fat in the burger patty, but no more than what's in yer katsu curry. And there's nothing unhealthy about lettuce, apple and sesame seeds!

I never said katsu curry was healthy. Japanese food remains on the whole, katsu curries and whatnot aside, much healthier than American food.

OK, oginome, don't eat it then.

Because it tastes so bad? Fruit in a burger, no thank you.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

stupid idea.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I would have called it the Ringo Star :-)

We eat pineapple and beetroot in burgers so apple sounds worth a try.

Don't worry, I won't. I'll still comment if I want.

"Don't worry, I won't."

I'll eat one for you.

I love how specific they are with the 7mm information. That's whetted my appetite for details - what are measurements of the burger? the bun? How many ml of mustard sauce? What's the area of the lettuce per serving?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I think it should be good, as Zichi pointed out, there are many meat/fruit combos that no one bats an eye at. I can tell you that wrapping slices of prosciutto around persimmon slices is really delicious. I'm going to Tokyo soon, I'll try it.

I'll eat one for you.

Thanks, but it's your health that's going to suffer.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Nah, let's keep fruit away from meat (except tomatoes!). You eat fruit for dessert.....after the burger. What on earth is BK thinking?!

Looks like life is finally worth living.

It never ceases to amaze me how people know exactly what something tastes like without even so much as smelled it. Must be something wrong with me.

I could not have imagined pineapple being good on pizza. But I tried it anyway. Boy was I surprised!

I don't even like apples much. I do love tonkatsu sauce, and I was surprised to find that a key ingredient is apples.

I guarantee each and every one of you has similar experiences. I am not saying you nay sayers have run out and try an apple burger, but its just plain silly to judge without trying it. Its like you never learned anything your whole life.

I've been cooking since I was 13, I can read a recipe and know how it's going to taste, whether it will fly or not. It's just experience :-D Nothing's wrong with you!

Himajin - Tryyyyyyy it, you'll liiiiiiiike it, ha ha!

Apples are good for you and a way to get young people to eat apples. Great job Burger King.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I'll eat one for you.

When you get diabetis, you won't be able to eat any, so please hurry and catch up with eating hamburgers.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Has anyone tried it yet? Anyway, I am certainly up for trying new things and open my horizons!

had one tonight absolutely disgusting, not recommended at all.

Oh and another thing it looked nothing like the one in the pic above, funny that these burgers never look like the one in the advertised picture.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Sorry, but I am so glad that they aren't serving them here......I did try many things while I was in Japan, and while I could tolerate tuna before I went, I haven't been able to eat it after partaking of it so many times :-P

Only in Japan.

Ya'll don't listen to ExportExpert, I had a BK RINGO today and it was great! What's not to like? A flame grilled beef patty with lettuce, honey-mustard sauce, a flame grilled apple slice with cinammon on a sesame seed bun! For just 240 yen! It's my favorite burger now, they had better not stop making it!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Oh, and by the way, mine looked just like the one in the picture!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

No one else has had one since my recommendation 3 days ago? Bon apetite, people!
