They've also announced a new 13" MacBook Pro with the M2 chip and with 512gb of storage it comes in cheaper than the Air with the same GPU. Was a little surprised with that. Also see they're not quite done with the touch bar, which a lot of people hate (I don't) so I'm wondering how popular it is going to be.

Wonderful. Outdated tech packed inside an aluminum chassis at a marked up premium.

Which tech is outdated? You realize the M2 is the leader out there, right?
And yeah, some of us are ready to pay a premium for a premium product.

I won't buy a macbook without a touchbar, m2 or not.

Yawn. My Velocity Micro laptop has the Intel 8 Core 2.30 GHz (4.60 GHz Turbo) processor with 24 MB Smart Cache, 32 GB memory, 2TB hard drive with a port for a second 1TB hard drive (maybe someday), 1920 x 1080 HD display, 4GB Nvidia video card, Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon, Libre Office, VLC Media Player, Firejail anti-virus, and I didn't pay Mac prices. Browsers are Firefox and Brave but I mostly use Brave. The chassis and display are Chinese, there rest is assembled in the US from American, South Korean (the 2 TB hard drive could have been made in the US or South Korea), Taiwan, Israel and Ireland. Nothing Chinese made touches data. No Macrcoshaft, no Google, no Apple anywhere. 100% open source software, no bloatware, no bull____ .

The touchbar is awesome and I really don't understand all the hate it received, but I'd consider the new Air over the touchbar pro for the magsafe power adaptor. Both only have two ports so to have one taken up by power supply is kind of limiting IMO.

Everyone who's not an Apple Soy Boi knows that Apple overhypes their tech and the same specs can be sourced for half the price in the PC market. Who wants a $3000-$4000 laptop that you can't upgrade the memory on your own, can't swap on hdd/ssd, etc? All conveniently super glued or soldered in place. Never mind their desktops in the $5000-$20,000 range.
