Actual placenta? If so, that's really disgusting. And from an animal I'm sure.

paulinusa - why is it disgusting (or more disgusting than let's say a piece of sirloin)? The placenta is by far the most nutritious piece of meat, and no animal has to die in order to provide it. If you ever witness an animal giving birth (cat, dog, etc), the first thing the mother does after the actual birth is to eat the placenta... I never had it (or this BB product), but I can see the many health benefits it can provide.

I don't eat red meat and besides, placenta in your coffee? Yuck. I also doubt the health benefits of ingesting it for healthy skin. Bet there aren't any legit studies backing that up.

"Hey! What's that powder you're putting in your coffee."

"Ground up placenta."

Great conversation started that'd be! LOL!

Also available in Mocha and Vanilla flavors.

paulinusa - my wrong, I take it back - a bit of internet research show that the placenta does not have any proven additional nutritional benefits... although it is sometimes used in traditional Chinese medicine (and probably was traditionally used in Japan as well)

It's been used as a hair treatment for many years, but not for internal uses as far as I know. Of course the Japanese are famous for these "miracle" drinks, aren't they?

gross and kinda disrespectful,,,where i come from the local people bury the placenta as it is viewed as a source of life

We all know the next product will be BB Snake-oil with added collagen.

As a person old enough to remember the original cast of Saturday Night Live, this reminds me of their "Placenta Helper" skit: "Placenta Helper lets you stretch your placenta into a tasty casserole." Google it for a chuckle.

It depends on the source. If its plant placenta it should be fine, but if its from animal source thats so gross.

Yuck.

Sugar? Cream? Placenta?

I'm no biologist, but I think the animals eat the placenta so that other animals won't smell it and track them down. It's also why cats bury their poo. I'm pretty sure that kitty doesn't go, "Yum, placenta! That's so healthy!"

I was once in a cafe where they had some placenta business you could mix into your drink. It was really expensive and ... just ... no. No no no no no.

Voodoo medicine is ridiculous in Japan. Try telling a Japanese person that the common cold is a virus and you can't actually get it from being cold. They will laugh you out of the country.
