Casio's G-shock GW-3000 is not only waterproof and shock resistant but also capable of withstanding up to 15G (centrifugal force), and compliant with ISO2669 (environmental tests for aircraft equipment -- steady-state acceleration).
This Pilot watch has a dial designed like a cockpit panel. It is not only solar atomic but also can connect with radio waves to fit different time zone.
The price will be between 35,700 yen to 49,350 yen. Three kinds will be sold, with a limit of 1,000 each.

I guess I should be wearing this watch when I'm in an airplane crash so the rescuers that find me will know what time it is when they find my pieces.

Wow, next time my commute leaves me at 15Gs I will still know what time it is. Life is wonderful isn't it?

Why people want such a watch? There is no difference between 100,000 yen and my digital watch 999 yen to know exact time.

As a (glider and small planes) pilot I've broken two (cheapish) watches at less than 6g in aerobatics. So this is very useful actually.
In case of a crash - expect forces of many tens of g therefore this watch will probably not survive also, but G-Forces are tested by dropping them from the 10th floor on cement ground and they should survive it with no problems...

well at least when they find one arm

Can any human survive a 15G acceleration? If not, why should his watch??

We couldnt locate the black box, but we found this watch, nary a scratch... I can see the Commercial now. Good timing for the JAL movie.

doesn't mean you need to be wearing the watch when it's doing 15G. Kind of like your notepc with a harddisk that says 50G or 200G or whaever powered on or powered off.

@WilliB: You would black out from a sustained 15G acceleration (or deceleration). But a 15G acceleration or impact wouldn't kill you. At worst, it would give you a concussion or a broken bone.
It's generally agreed that it takes an impact of greater than 50G to kill a human.
The good folks at Breitling or Tag Heuer might not think of this as a pilot watch. Their versions include a circular slide rule on the watch bezel that can be used for aviation calculations. This watch appears to offer none of that.

Price-Shock only (?)
