The city of Seki in Gifu prefecture in Japan is lauded for a rich tradition and history of samurai sword making, and in modern times that extends to a reputation for state-of-the-art cutlery and blades of all kinds. Long-established and renowned makers in the city continue to innovate with craft such as the world's first foldable and disposable paper razor blade.
Nikken Cutlery is one such maker. The company, which has been crafting blades for 75 years, has released some creative blades in the past, including scissors inspired by iconic anime Neon Genesis Evangelion and letter openers authentically modeled after the famous blades of legendary Shinsengumi warriors.
Now their latest crowdfunded release (via website Makuake) combines the cutting edge of their blades and music with electric guitar high quality office scissors.
The series of scissors is called Seki Sound, and can act as both interior decor for music lovers and be whipped out to cut your paper with the precision of a well crafted Japanese blade. When closed, the scissors look like a miniature electric guitar and even come with a display stand.
When opened, by removing the headstock which doubles as a safety cap, you can open up the guitar to use as a pair of scissors.
Seki Sound is available in two colors: black and red for the standard model, and metallic blue and pearl white with luster and lame as the special model.
Each Seki Sound model is carefully crafted one by one by skilled Seki cutlery craftsmen down to the finest detail.

What a cool nifty idea. Many real guitarists like Japanese made guitars for their quality, and as for cutting items this sure beats those stereotype Gensu knives featured in those dumb late night TV infomercials.
